It’s been 3,700 years since you were turned to stone, after all those years you finally had broken free. Like you had woken up from long slumber, the day that you turned stone was terrifying, a green light appeared and suddenly you and everyone around you turned to stone. Your thoughts racing in a panic, you don’t know how, but you managed to mentally stay awake and now that you're free, it felt like a miracle.
The world you once knew wasn’t the same, the earth now greener, looked like a jungle. You were basically a cave girl, afraid and alone, scared of the dangers and the unknown.
Panic was in you, you felt confused and afraid, not knowing what to do. However, as much as you wanted to, you know that panic wouldn’t solve anything. And so, you moved around walking distances, hoping to find another human alive and unpetrified. But all you could see were stoned humans, frozen with emotions. It was hurting to see them, how there was nothing you could do.
A few months had passed since you woke up, somehow you managed to still be alive, learning how to gather food and even making your own clothing from natural materials. It took a long time with nights filled with tears, from fear, hunger, and loneliness. Wishing that everything was a dream.
One day you found humans, three of them, just like you, they were teenagers. Their names were Senku, Taiju, and Yuzuriha, all three of them were friends who all broke free from their stone skins, surviving and working together in the de-evolved world. After meeting them, maybe hope wasn’t lost for you.
And now a year was about to pass since you broke free from petrification, and now you were looking at a giant glowing tree, surrounded by people. Their faces filled with awe and wonder, looking at the beautifully lit tree.
During that entire year, you and Senku had wandered from Yuzuriha and Taiju. The four of you split into half, two going one way and two going the other. Before that the four of you discovered a boy named Tsukasa, back in the old world he was a very famous teenage martial artist.
The four of you looked for him and after finding him, you and the others revived him. Hoping that he would help you all in this new world, and having his extra strength and support help you all. Little did you know, that would be a huge mistake.
Tsukasa wasn’t interested in reviving all of humanity, he had understandable plans and feelings, but cruel executions to them. When he revealed his plan, not getting the response he expected, immediately he tried to kill Senku, raging violence on the group.
After surviving the traumatic event, you and Senku parted with Yurzuriha and Taiju. Soon you came across Kohaku, a girl you and Senku rescued from Tsukasa. In return, she would be someone who you and Senku would be great allies and friends with her, as the next day after helping her, she led you and Senku to her village, Ishigami village.
Time had passed at the village, at first you and Senku were strangers outside the village, but after using science to educate the people of the village, making friends/allies, and even working on medicine to help cure the priestess Ruri, Kohaku’s sister, you and Senku had managed to make Ishigami village apart of the Kingdom of Science. With Senku also becoming the new village chief, officializing the village becoming a part of the Kingdom of Science.
After some time, the crowd of village people started to die down, slowly but surely everyone started to walk back to the village. “Are you coming soon?” Kohaku said to you, “We can walk together back to the village if you want” “No it’s fine” you said, politely declining her request. “Senku said he needs me for a moment.”
Gen looked at you smugly as he whispered into Kohaku’s ear, “looks like someone is going to make a move” he said. Kohaku giggled at his statement, “hey don’t assume things between the two of them” she said. “We all know Senku isn’t that much of a fan when it comes to love.” “As much as she tries to make it clear that she doesn’t like him, we all know that she does. All Senku did was just ask her if she could stay because he needs her for something, besides let’s not try to act like cupid ok.”
After everyone left, you and Senku were the only ones at the Christmas tree. The lights shining bright on your cold face, “I’m sorry I had you wait for some time, after everyone’s left.” he said to you, his back turned in front of you. “It's fine” you reassured him, “besides, I bet you need me cause we’re gonna plan a new science project” you said cheekily, grinning with pride.
“No it’s not that” he said to you, “I had you stay here with me, because I want to talk to you about something.” “Tell me, before the petrification… Did you use it to celebrate Christmas.” He said, now turning to you, “well I don’t know how to respond to that” you said, "when the winter time comes it’s already festive for me.” “Knowing that my friends and my family are around me, that’s enough for me.” “I don’t mind the holidays, but as long as I’m happy whether I celebrate Christmas or not, that’s what matters”
Senku chuckled at your response, “I knew you’d say something like that, and there’s nothing wrong with that.” “However I asked you this because you're the only modern day human that I have next to me right now, aside from Gen you're the only person who knows of or probably celebrates Christmas.” Even though Yuzuriha and Taiju exist with us and they celebrate Christmas, we don’t know where they are right now, and sadly they can’t be with us.”
“It’s been so long since we’ve been asleep, our families aren’t with us any more, especially my dad Byakuya.” “It’s just.. so crazy that 3700 years have passed us by so quickly, everything we ever knew it’s gone from us.”
“However”, Senku said as he walked towards you. “I’m grateful you're here with me right now, grateful that I’m not alone in this village and that someone who can understand what I'm saying sometimes and know of the things from our time is here with me.”
“I know it’s been a stressful year for all of us, but you don’t realize how much you being here with me means to me.” “I don’t really want to start ranting on emotions and sentimental shit, but thank you for being here.” He said to you, “without you here it would have been a bit more difficult to convince everybody, your kindness and hard work really is something impactful.”
“Thank you Senku” you said, trying to turn your head away hoping that he doesn’t see you blushing. “I really appreciate your words, I’m surprised you had me here with you for company and to thank me for cooperation, you're not that boring after all.” You said giggling, “Hey let’s not be rude”, Senku said joking along with you.
“But seriously tho, thank you for just being here” he said, his eyes glistening with happiness, “and happy holidays to you.” “Happy Holidays back to you Senku and merry Christmas” you said smiling, “next year is gonna be wild already, especially when spring starts”. “Even though I don’t really make promises out of fear that I won’t be able to keep them or something heartbreaking or scary happens.” “I promise you this Senku, that I will always be on your side no matter what happens.”
“If anything were to happen, I want you to know that I am proud that I was a part of the Kingdom of Science.” “And that my contributions allowed our team to win, and for humanity to grow back again. I know deep in my heart that one day we will rise up again, all of humanity will rise and you are a part of the reason why.” You said looking at Senku, eyes filled with seriousness and hope.
“Well thanks, but I want you to know that nothing won’t happen, you won’t be dying and I’ll make sure of it.” Senku said to you, " I promise you that one day humanity will rise again, and that no life will be lost in order for it to be achieved.”
The both of you turned your faces to the glowing tree, its lights shining bright in your faces. Science was there and glowing bright with the holiday season. “I can’t believe Tsukasa wants to destroy this even though science can never be destroyed,” you said in a whisper. Senku looked at your hand, it was open and at your side, “her hand is so beautiful” he said, looking and tracing the shape of your hand in his head, the impulsiveness to hold your hand made him quite nervous and made him blush.
After some time, the two of you left the giant Christmas tree, returning back to everyone. After arriving, Ruri, Kohaku, and your other friends rushed to you and Senku. “Thank goodness you're both alright” Ruri said, “Don’t worry about us, nothing big or serious happened” Senku said reassuring the girl, walking away while picking his left ear with his pinky.
“So what happened between you two?” Ginro said, a devilish smile on his face. “Ginro, I don’t know what you're implying so stop trying to act all smug” you said, trying not to blush. “But oh you are blushing”, Gen added in. Everyone laughed at there silly comment teasing you, “Alright everyone let’s just give her a break”, Kohaku said turning to you smirking, “Besides it’s obvious she doesn’t want to tell us what happened" You laughed at her comment, as everyone joined in laughing at the silliness.
A few meters away was Senku, he was returning back to his lab, looking back he saw you. Everyone crowded around you, all of you laughing and talking with each other. “Tonight really is exciting, especially knowing that I made her happy.” Senku said looking at your face, “whether we’re friends or more, seeing you happy makes me happy. I wish we were more than friends, maybe one day we will be.” Senku said as he entered his lab.
