Chapter Text
The night was heavy with silence.
Gao Ming’s words still echoed in Wen Lang’s ears — cold and deliberate.
“Ten million. That’s the price to end it. Make sure the child is gone.”
Ten million… for a life. For their baby’s life.
Wen Lang’s hands tightened around his phone. He could hardly breathe. The man he trusted most — Gao Tu — had kept this from him. The betrayal was quiet but deep, settling like frost in his chest.
Why didn’t he tell me?

In the restroom, Gao Tu stood trembling, gripping the edge of the sink. His reflection stared back — pale, frightened, and desperate. He dialed quickly.
“Qing… I can’t stay. Father’s gone too far. I need to leave. Now.”
His sister, Gao Qing, didn’t hesitate. Within minutes, they met outside, slipping into the shadows. No words, only the sound of hurried footsteps and the dull hum of engines as they headed toward the airport — their only escape route.

At the airport, a familiar figure appeared before them.
“Gao Tu.”
It was Hua Yong, calm as ever, standing beside an elegant omega whose presence immediately drew attention. Hua Yong gestured toward him.
“This is Yang Yi — Wen Lang’s omega father.”
Gao Tu froze. He’d heard that name before — whispered with respect and distance — but never thought he’d meet him.
Yang Yi’s eyes softened as he studied him.
“You’re Wen Lang’s Gao Tu, aren’t you? Come. I’ll help you.”
Without hesitation, Yang Yi guided him away, discreetly arranging everything needed for his escape. For the first time that night, Gao Tu felt a fragile sense of hope.

Back at the restaurant, Wen Lang’s unease turned to dread. Gao Tu had been gone far too long. He stood, pushed his chair back sharply, and strode toward the restroom — only to find the window wide open, curtains fluttering in the night breeze.
“Gao Tu…”
He called Chang Yu, ordering him to track Gao Tu immediately. But Hua Yong had already intervened — the information Chang Yu gave was false.
Wen Lang chased the lie until exhaustion dulled his anger. By the time he stopped, the fury that once consumed him was gone, replaced by something colder — a hollow ache that whispered of loss.
And so, the beginning of their end quietly unfolded.
