"Busted!"
The Doctor froze. The torch light captured him in silhouette, casting a shadow against the wall. There was no way he could hide. He just hoped that there might be a way he could escape without punishment.
"You know this is a prohibited area," his captor told him. "Yet you continue to break the rules. What am I going to do with you this time, Doctor?"
Not for the first time, the Doctor realised that his multicoloured jacket wasn't the wises choice of attire, especially when it came to blending into the background. He tried to think quickly. Was there any way he could talk his way out of this?
"This isn't what it looks like, I assure you," he said.
"Oh, no. Don't you dare try that line on me! Do you know who you're dealing with?"
The Doctor couldn't see his captor due to the bright light of the torch, but he had a very good idea of who it was. He recognised the voice. This time he was done for.
"Put the contents of your right hand down and step away slowly," the voice commanded.
A piece of bread smothered with peanut butter was hanging in the air just inches away from the Doctor's mouth. He hung his head and put it back on the plate next to the fridge.
"Now, if you must make yourself a midnight snack," said Mel, "you should have a nice green leaf salad. You need to think about your health, Doctor."
The Doctor sighed. He'd rather face a Dalek.
