"IT'S DONE! YES! OH MY GOD!" Frisk pat the back of the person as they crash down the ground, seeming like they were trying to hug the dirt, it's only something someone who's been through something over and over again would do.
Everyone couldn't even take the person seriously, they're too busy trying to wake themselves up because there's no way that 3 of those who died are now alive and in front of them, just as confused as they are.
Toriel didn't waste any time, when the weight of everything finally settled in, she rushed to hug her supposedly dead children, she cried, mostly out of relief.
"How can such a thing be possible?" She asked both of them, not really looking for an answer but because she didn't know what to say after you see your dead loved ones alive again, for now she just relished their body heat. They were warm. Alive.
Chara was first to speak, wanting to straighten this situation as quickly as possible. "I...You were all dead— This doesn't make any sense..." They were cut off by Asgore hugging them in this big group hug.
Behind them, Papyrus was hugging another skeleton it seemed like he will not be letting go of Gaster anytime soon, Sans on the other hand, looked calm. Looked. In reality, he was holding Gaster's skeleton hand as if it was his lifeline, like if he let go; W.D. Gaster would just disappear into the void again.
Gaster shook his head, somehow, he knew he wouldn't disappear again. He looked at the person on the ground that quite literally, dragged him out of the abyss and then he looked at the sun in the distance, it seems like monster kind made it out of the underground.
"Everyone, why don't we take this somewhere private?" Gaster suggested, whatever that person did, it wasn't something that can be discussed in public because they broke the laws of this world...well him being back also breaks it too.
And he finds this situation very, very, very interesting...
---
Asriel was as confused as ever, just like he predicted, he became a flower once again; but something was different, he didn't feel as if he consumed the 6 human souls and all of monsterkind's souls...he just felt like what he normally felt like as Flowey, nothing. Well it makes sense, but also it doesn't? It's like none of all that happened at all.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey!" Is what naturally came out of his tiny flower mouth, but before he could continue any sentences everything went black, and he woke up face to face with Chara, he looked down and he saw his fur. He would've thought it was a dream if it weren't for the fact that he felt alive, he felt.
Looking over at Chara for an explanation they shook their head and explained as much as they know.
---
If Chara was being honest, they don't know much either. To them, they woke up here along with Asriel, but that can't be right because they know Frisk, which shouldn't be possible because Chara was dead.
Chara guesses that they were a spirit of some sort, following Frisk, watching as they explore underground. But Chara doesn't remember that, they know it's what they did but they can't remember fully. It's like having a concussion.
They ignore that for a moment and focus on the actual problem. They feel alive. You might ask, "Chara why is that a problem?" Well, because Chara, despite their memories being hazy, knows that they were dead, they got sick; they almost made their brother commit murder, and they died. It's not like they can magically come back to life, every story ever that has resurrection always sacrifice a lot of people or something important.
Sacrifices aside. Resurrection isn't a good thing, consequences always follows anyone who try it.
Before Chara can think any further, the dim room was finally lit by a door opening, what followed was Frisk, a stranger that was taller than them(Chara can't help but see resemblance between them, except this stranger had their blue eyes open and looked really really pissed), said stranger was dragging someone by their collar...Is that Mr. Gaster? The Royal Scientist?
"YOU. YOU STUPID #!$?&#! SKELETON. I HAD TO GO THROUGH 58 GENOCIDE RUNS RESETTING EVERY DAMN TIME BECAUSE MY 'FUN' VALUE WASN'T HIGH ENOUGH TO LAND IN THE TIMELINE WHERE YOU'RE MORE SUBSTANTIAL." The stranger huffed then they...she? They sound like a she, they also act like a she. Forgive Chara for assuming.
The stranger then kneeled to Frisk's height. "I'm really sorry I used you like that, the least I could do was make sure I was the one that did those genocide runs, I didn't want your hands to be stained with their ashes." Frisk turned to her direction and sent her an appreciative look—despite their unchanging face—like they understood that she did what she had to do. Chara suddenly remember, this person isn't even trying to hide it.
The stranger turned to look at both them and Asriel, Chara immediately put a hand to block him, as if to protect their brother. "Oh damn, y'all are awake? Well too bad. I'm gonna rest before I do another timeline hop, especially with a bunch of people, y'all do you." With that, she collapsed, seemingly out of exhaustion.
Frisk sat by her side as Gaster finally got ahold of himself after being scolded by a teenager(?) and sat down between Asriel and Chara.
"What happened Mr. Gaster?" Asriel asked, assuming he would know because the stranger basically dragged him in this void.
---
Gaster was everywhere and nowhere at the same time, after he fell into the core he felt as if he was in a void, but parts of him were scattered. He can hear everyone and yet he is nowhere.
He can't quite explain it. The voices he heard came slowly, the longer he was in the void the more voices he could hear. Not just any voices either, voices of his loved ones, voices of the royal family, voices of every monster in the underground.
He could hear them and he was overjoyed, until he reached the conclusion that he will never be able to communicate with them. He could just hear them. Like an invisible eavesdropper.
He's long lost the concept of time in this void, some words; he realized, seemed to be repeating. Sometimes a few lines would differ. He ignored most of them knowing if he engraved them on his mind then he would only mind insane.
Most of them. There are times that he is sometimes mentioned but not quite enough information because it was rude to talk about someone who's listening.
It's not, well, for him. If he can, he would beg them to keep talking about him. It makes him remember that he was real and was once a living person. That he isn't just a consciousness made in the abyss and dreaming of a life he would rather have than staring at one might call nothingness. He was real. He just needed to remember.
"I hate life, why did I choose this route? Do I hate myself Frisk? Why do I have to raise my damn FUN value to 66? I WAS SO CLOSE- WE JUST ENCOUNTERED THE SOUND TEST ROOM- NOW WE HAVE TO RESET AGAIN AGHHH."
Gaster's interest was caught by the voice, it was a voice he hadn't heard before, this was someone new. He tried his best to listen in but was soon drowned out by other voices, it was at moments like these—when everyone starts talking over each other—that it felt as if he was looking for someone ordinary—if you can call them that—in a crowd.
It took a while but he finally heard the voice of the newcomer again.
Although this time, much clearer.
No seriously, like they were right behind him.
Gaster was grabbed before he even had the chance to disappear, not willingly of course, but this person never gave him that chance.
Gaster didn't even know he was solid enough to be grabbed.
---
"So that's what happened..." Toriel can only mumble as she caressed the back of her children.
"Human, you do realize that there are consequences to this right?"
"Pfft- Of course I do, that's why it won't be long before I POOF! Y'know?" She said, clearly going insane with how many resets she had gone through just to bring them here, for a TRUE happy ending. "I'd be fine though, I wasn't meant to be here anyway. One of the spectators if I do say so myself! I'm probably going to do nothing but watch y'all with the consequences I will get but that's exactly why I want to at least see a happy family for as long as you can possibly can."
No one got to thank her before she suddenly disappeared, that's why if she really was watching, they'd give her the best show they can give...except for the fact watching them all the time is probably creepy, so was listening in on everyone. We're looking at you Gaster.
