The info dump, very important

Tech had summoned Echo, the resident ARC Trooper of the team, his very best friend in the wide of the galaxy too. Echo now patiently waiting for the inevitable info dump these summonings usually ended up to be as.

Alas today, instead of his usual bravado and going straight to the point, Tech seemed rather fidgety.   Nervous more likely. Nothing usual about that at all.

As by the norm, by the moment Echo had managed to get seated, he had already gotten the datapad in is hand with the topic agenda on it clearly displayed, the topics bolded and underlined neatly.

Alas no datapad today?

Only a very nervously pacing Tech in front of him.

Echo well versed with his best friends quirks calmly waited for a spell before reaching out to Tech, gently placing his hand on Tech’s arm, getting the genius’ attention.

“Tech, please, take a seat.”

Tech stopped his anxious pacing then adjusting his goggles before his eyes zoomed in on Echo’s hand first. Then, on Echo himself. Their gazes connecting.

Tech was blushing out of the blue, feeling suddenly hot all over. This obviously not helping any.

Something which did not go unnoticed by Echo either making the ARC suddenly worried of his friend.

“Tech you okay?”

“I um…”

Echo not sure what was going on, guided Tech to take a seat next to him while making room for the genius even if it would be a rather tight fit for the two. Alas, they made room just the same. They always did. Often found sitting right next to the other.

Something surprisingly not helping Tech though either. Echo feeling the heat radiating from Tech,  worried for fever, Echo’s hand found Tech’s forehead to feel the temperature there.

“You’re very hot. Are you running a fever?”

It was a stupid question true, but Echo was really worried now for Tech. The genius acting like he had caught… something.

“No… Echo… I’m not.”

Of that Tech was sure of. Not any kind of regular fever from an infection… well, maybe?

Echo not as assured though. And Tech was unusually silent, his gaze roaming all over the place except on Echo.

“Tech, what’s going on with you?”

Echo then deciding on a more direct approach suspecting Tech was aware of his condition, of what had caused it.

Tech finally settling just a little bit with a heavy sigh let out.

“I… I wanted to show you something, Echo.”

“Okay, what is it?”

There was the datapad produced out of nowhere finally. And as Echo looked at the screen, there was a list on the there. Nothing out the ordinary for Tech to do. Lists were his specialty after all.

“What is it for?”

Tech was feeling a little more nervous again, swallowing hard before he managed to speak again.

“It is… a list.”

“Heh, I can see that.”

Tech knitted his brow. The worry there present clear for Echo to see.

“Well it’s not just any list, Echo. But a list of… reasons.”

“Reasons? For what exactly?”

Echo was growing slightly suspicious of what was going on, but being patient and waiting for Tech to explain. After all, rushing would get them nowhere even if Tech was the blunt one, usually.

“A list of reasons… why we two… should be… together.” There was a lot of hesitation there in Tech’s tone. His eyes still eluding Echo.

“Together? As in?” Echo had a hunch suddenly, but he did not want to spook Tech either.

Tech’s eyes finally finding Echo’s again. Him staring at the ARC for a long while almost as if assessing his options and perhaps what Echo was thinking right now.

And then it happened.

Tech reached for Echo’s chin, gently drawing the ARC closer to him. Much much closer. Soon the two of them were a breath away from each other only, sharing air.

“This.”

Only one word before Tech’s lips were on Echo’s. The barely there kiss shared between them. Their gazes remaining locked after they broke off.

“You are right, Tech.”

“About?”

“Your list.”

Echo leaned in again, kissing Tech this time first. There was more pressure, more heat, more passion, love even there. Echo’s response, to Tech's list.
