Chapter Text
As a Pro-Hero Aizawa Shouta, Eraserhead had definitely been in his fair share of strange situations; none could have prepared him for this. It started as a quick shopping trip in Yokohama, honestly they had the best deals and since the city was close to Musutafu he’d go there on the weekends. He had bought most of his groceries as he headed down the street towards a café he had heard a lot about, supposedly there was an old style detective agency that had recently opened above it.
But that wasn’t the meaning of this trip.
*Thud
Aizawa blinked out of his thoughts. “Uh Sorry didn’t see you there.” He said in his usual monotone voice. Aizawa looked down, realizing that whoever he’d bumped into was now lying on the ground.
He extended a hand. “Hey sorry about that…”
The boy grabbed his hand “Dazai, Dazai Osamu!” He piped while grinning “and you are?” Aizawa looked at the kid dumbfounded. “Are you sure you’re ok? Oh and Aizawa Shouta” Now that Aizawa looked at the boy he noticed the collection of grimy bandages the boy Dazai wore as well as his dirt covered face and ragged clothes. The hero alarm in his brain went off but was quickly silenced by Dazai’s voice “Sooo- you gonna buy me canned crab?”
Aizawa’s mouth opened and closed before turning into a slight frown. “And why would I do that?” The kid looked at him, his eyes shining lightly, his head tilted to the side. “Hmmm well I mean you are a hero right? Aren’t you supposed to be heroic” he said pointing towards his cheek, giggling softly. Aizawa looked at him shocked, how had the kid known that he was in civilian attire? “What makes you say that?” He said.
“Hmmm easy! You look vigilant, you seem well put together, your monotone voice-I’m guessing from years of experience, oh and the way you looked at me when you noticed my… uh situation! See, very easy!”
Aizawa stared at the kid silently, confused and shocked at the kid’s observations. “Yeah, you got me.” He said trying to act unfazed, rubbing his head, with a faint smile. Dazai looked at Aizawa his eyes sparkling, yes sparkling, as he punched at the air with his fists. “Yes! Finally! So you’ll get me the crab right?” He said with a sly smile. Aizawa didn’t know how but this kid was definitely going to cause him a headache… but the kid had a good point, he was a hero and Aizawa could tell just how malnourished the kid was. “Fine.” The older said bluntly.
At this Dazai grabbed Aizawa's hand and pulled him along to a small store on the corner of the street. “I cant go in… cause we’ll, I don’t have shoes.” Aizawa frowned because he hadn't noticed that; he should buy the kid some shoes. It wasn't right to leave the kid without any. “Sure.” Aizawa walked in the store and immediately began his way towards the canned food section, looking around until he found the right thing. Grabbing a few before looking for a soda or some type of sweet drink. (Even if he wouldn’t admit it he had a real soft spot for kids..)
Once he purchased everything he made his way out noticing Dazai swaying back and forth on his feet, his hands behind his back, and a huge grin strung across his face. “God this child.” Aizawa whispered under his breath before exiting the store.
“You got it right!” Dazai said excitedly. Aizawa let out a small huff of a laugh “Yeah I did.”
