FADE IN:
DOWNTOWN SHIRATORI, KIVOTOS POLICE DEPT LOBBY - NOON.
A light-skinned woman with long blonde hair stepped out of her car, her junior following close behind. The animalistic ears atop her head twitched—catching sounds that only she could hear. Above her, a faintly glowing halo hovered, shaped like a cross Celtic knot. It bobbed gently in the air, cheerful in its motion, a sharp contrast to the grim expression worn by its bearer.
Her lips curled into a permanent hard-edged scowl, revealing jagged predatory teeth that looked capable of biting through rebar, chewing it up, swallowing it, and still saving room for a dessert of granite and tempered glass.
This is OGATA KANNA, captain of Valkyrie’s Public Security Bureau—nicknamed “The Feral Hound.”
A ruthless, canine-blooded interrogator to her core. She prefers the classic carrot-and-stick approach—or simply lets her world-ending glare do the talking.
In her years with the KSPD, even the toughest, most iron-willed thugs sang like songbirds the moment she entered the room. No one is an unbreakable vault. Everyone. Will. Talk.
And she is our NARRATOR. Her voice is youthful, yet carrying a coarse, growling timbre that can slice through silence and leave fear trembling in its wake.
NARRATOR (KANNA)
Another day. Another criminal to interrogate, detain, and lock behind bars.
I can’t really blame them, though. Most of them turn to crime out of desperation—circumstances beyond their control, especially in times like these.
Or maybe it is within their control.
And I’m just wasting my sympathy.
Next to her was her junior—a girl with long, white, hip-length hair tied into two pigtails that swayed with every step. The faint click-clack of grenades hanging from her belt followed her wherever she went. Her halo bobbed eagerly above her head, matching the boundless enthusiasm of its owner.
She is NAKATSUKASA KIRINO. A first-year student who couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn… or anything beyond it, for that matter, as if the world itself swallowed her bullets whole.
But KANNA didn’t count on her for her aim. She counted on her heart—her passion for the job, her stubborn willingness to defy orders in the name of doing what’s right. Even if those same impulses usually proved exactly why she should’ve followed orders in the first place.
It was amazing at how her record of reprimands and warnings was thick enough to pass for a damn novel.
Even so, KANNA had found her to be surprisingly reliable in the end.
KANNA
You didn’t forget anything in the car?
KIRINO
(shaking her head)
Nope! Ready, Captain!
KANNA's expression didn’t change as she stepped into the station with KIRINO following closely behind. For the past few weeks, things had been hectic—and strange. Mostly strange.
A report of a stolen car. That diary she’d flipped through over and over again—her glare as sharp as the blush she’d tried to hide a few days prior after reading it. KANNA scratched her head as a long sigh escaped her lips. Now comes the hard part for the case.
KANNA
Fubuki, good morning. Do we have him in for questioning?
The student behind the desk leaned forward after a small sigh and a lazy stretch.
LAZY OFFICER
Uwah, sure do, Captain.
The officer yawned as she reached for her favorite box of doughnuts, plucking out a pink-frosted one topped with sprinkles. Her sluggish demeanor was a constant—almost grating for KANNA, though she’d long since learned to live with it.
This is NEMUGAKI FUBUKI, another first-year student in the Public Safety Bureau.
She wasn’t incompetent—far from it. If anything, she was far too competent. This lazy cop had a talent for finding loopholes within loopholes, for skimming reports and complaints with lightning efficiency and filling it as insincere as possible. She’d optimized her workflow so perfectly that she spent more time relaxing than working.
Now, she chewed on her doughnut with puffed cheeks, savoring every bite as if she had all the time in the world.
FUBUKI
He’s in Interrogation Two. He’s… ah… quite displeased.
KANNA
(folding her arms)
Sounds like we shouldn’t keep him waiting, Kirino.
KIRINO
(nodding excitedly)
Yes! Let’s go!
KANNA gave a polite nod as KIRINO fell into step behind her without hesitation. Step by step, they made their way down the familiar hallway toward the waiting door. The Feral Hound took a deep breath, her hand hovering over the sleek metallic handle—then pushed it open.
NARRATOR (KANNA)
A Gehennan who got her feet licked.
A junior member of the JTF.
A sleepy oji-san.
And even the treasurer from Millennium.
He wasn’t exactly a bad adult. He was helpful, polite, even kind to students. But if anything… he was almost a menace to the public, if not for his contributions to Kivotos.
...
And the students really owe him everything.
I owe him everything.
CUT TO:
INT. INTERROGATION ROOM 2 - NOON.
The room is spartan, stripped of personality—built to serve a single purpose. A 3.84m x 2.84m box with dull grey walls, a one-way mirror that sees everything, and a single CCTV camera blinking silently from the corner with a microphone—hungrily listening on each and every syllable that would leave their lips. The only light source was a lone desk lamp casting a small circle of illumination across the metal table, leaving everything else to drown in shadow.
Sitting behind that table—facing the door—is him.
Glasses perched neatly on his face. Intelligent blue eyes meeting her own icy light-blue stare. Long hair tied into a neat, understated ponytail.
He is LUDWIG-SENSEI. Enigmatic, kind, a man said to have a heart of gold… and possibly more than one personality, depending on who’s asking.
To some, he’s dependable.
To others, a menace.
To her… perhaps both.
LUDWIG-SENSEI
(adjusting his tie)
Finally… have you any idea how long I’ve been waiting to speak with you? I’m needed back at SCHALE, and you keep me here like some common criminal.
KIRINO
(clearing her throat, raising a hand to ease the tension)
Alright… let’s just take a deep breath and start over, okay?
SENSEI sighed, doing as instructed. He drew in a long breath, then folded his arms across his chest. KANNA’s ears twitched lightly as she took her seat, notebook already open before her while KIRINO remained standing.
KANNA
Right, Sensei… where did you purchased the car?
LUDWIG-SENSEI
My secretary handled the transaction. Mostly because the GSC arranged it for me.
There was a pause. KANNA’s pen hovered above the page as her eyebrows lifted—just slightly.
NARRATOR (KANNA)
Him? Riding in a GSC-assigned car?
Sensei is many things—but if there’s one constant, it’s him teasing the Acting President... just because he can.
KANNA
You? Driving a sleek white-and-blue? Sensei, I want answers—or I’ll bite you.
LUDWIG-SENSEI
(shuddering lightly, clearing his throat)
...Right. Okay. It was the big sister from Millennium who offered me a substantial bribe to make a purchase for her academy. It’s not exactly unusual, is it?
KIRINO
(huffing)
It’s… not exactly unusual if we’re talking about the helmet gangsters. Not you, Sensei.
KANNA had already moved on, her gaze dropping to the open notebook she held as her scowl remained. Her pencil tapped lightly against the page once, twice, before she scratched off something on her list.
KANNA
Can you tell us how it was stolen?
LUDWIG-SENSEI
(thoughtful, tapping on the table)
It must have been stolen from the garage… or when I parked it near Angel 24. Terribly inconvenient of course.
I want the perpetrator… to be found and put behind bars.
KANNA
And they will.
NARRATOR (KANNA)
There was something not adding up. Sensei couldn’t be that careless.
KANNA
But you have a pretty good idea who stole the car don’t you, sensei? Do I need to shake it out of you?!
LUDWIG-SENSEI
(raising his hands peacefully, a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead)
Calm down… I was just about to tell you that.
SENSEI cleared his throat and slowly lowered his hands, resting them back on the table.
LUDWIG-SENSEI
I suspect… a disgruntled student around. Rabu.
NARRATOR (KANNA)
Rabu. I’ve heard of her. A top brass helmet gangster that called the shots for who to kick and who to intimidate.
KANNA made a quick scratch on her book, filing it for later.
KANNA
So, tell me about her. You had a run in with her?
LUDWIG-SENSEI
I did. She's a... helmet ganger to put it bluntly.
SENSEI answered immediately as he leaned.
LUDWIG-SENSEI
A presumptuous young student who did not know his place. She had the audacity to ask me questions.
SENSEI said almost half arrogantly as he slowly raised his hand and pointed his index finger at KANNA.
KIRINO
We do a lot of presuming here at the Kivotos, Sensei. It comes with the turf.
KANNA flipped through her notes silently, her hard-steel gaze fixed on him. Studying the enigmatic adult sitting across from her in the dimly lit interrogation room. His emotions, his expressions. Every shift, every micro expression.
Her eyes narrowed as she made one last tap on the book.
NARRATOR (KANNA)
There’s still one last thing. One last important thread for me to pull before this interrogation ends. Sensei may thought I have no cards left.
In fact, I'm still hiding my ace.
KANNA
Do you fuck young girls sensei—
LUDWIG-SENSEI
ARE YOU A MADMAN?!
