Kindling the Dawn

Summary:

An AU where the roles of Enji and Touya are reversed. Enji never forced his children to train, instead taking the burden on himself to be the number one hero. The burden and the reality of hero work eventually becomes too much.

Okay hear me out: He never forces Touya or Shoto to train, shoulders the burden of his goals by himself and overworks. One day something goes badly on a mission (+ all the pressure of his own expectations and never being “better than All might”) so he ends up having a psychotic break, his quirk goes haywire, and he disappears. Everyone thinks he’s dead. In hiding, he becomes resentful of society & the hero world and becomes a “villain” that targets corrupt top Heros and the commission. Touya and Shoto become heroes in remembrance of him and to continue the legacy, but they don’t know what actually happened.
