Chapter Text
In an alternate universe, Hyuna is a volleyball player. Being a pro volleyball player is hard. Especially for Hyuna. Dealing with racism from some people, dealing with morons saying she has “too much of a masculine build.”
In that same universe, Luka is a slave to be a model. Being forced not dto eat is hard. He’s forced to look at every little detail of himself. Every little ugly detail. His purple finger tips, the weird patches on his skin. Thank the lord he has a beautiful face.
Till is in a relatively popular garage band. His group produces indie rock music. Till being the guitarist and singer, the pressure is hard on his skin. Constantly spiking him. Leaving even the faintest scars over his skin. Causing him to leaving the deepest cuts over his arms that cause his blood to trail down.
Ivan is in a boy K-pop group. His group is more soft than Till’s. Making some catchy romance songs that really hit close to his heart. But there’s no way for the fans to decide who he’s taking about. Which lucky GIRL k-pop idol could he be inlove with. The toxicity of the fans causes unreasonable shipping between him and female idols. But all Ivan ever wanted was just some love back from the person whom he’d fallen for.
Sua is an actor who has also had some singles and who is often praised for her angel-like looks. She has to deal with people shipping her with every male actor she even so looks at. It’s more annoying than isn’t. Whilst being compared to being an angel, heavily religious people go out and talking about how disgusting anything not white and woke is.
Mizi is in a k-pop girl group that produces energetic music. However, she often gets hate for her bright pink hair with blue ends and yellow eyes. The amount of rumors that say she’s had cosmetic surgery is upsetting. All of Mizi’s exs have left her for one reason. The reason of these rumors that she’s had plastic surgery and used to be incredibly unattractive.
In a world such as ours, popular figures get hell and worse. Criticized for even doing what they want.
The daily life of these figures have very different stories. Are they connected with one another? It’s hard to tell.
As a pro volleyball player, Hyuna’s life follows as so.
Waking up in the morning she immediately jumps up and stretches as she looks out her window. She then skips to her bathroom as she begins to get ready. Splashing water on her face as she listens to a new song from X-PARTYGIRLZ, the k-pop group rather hated idol Mizi is from. Surprisingly Hyuna likes their music.
After Hyuna is done in the bathroom, she quickly downs an energy drink as she goes down for a run. After maybe a mile run, she goes to her apartment’s gym to lift some weights. Being a powerful spiker, she has to maintain her strength. After all this, she decides to go to her local cafè. In a disguise.
“Hey, could I get a mocha?”
Almost immediately the cashier recognizes her, her eyes are the ice-blue that’s unmistakable. As the cashier gets overly excited, there are also people that start throwing stuff at her. Wrappers and all.
They yell slurs she won’t repeat. And people try to jump on her. She quickly rushes out and back to her apartment. She decides to just lay on her bed.
She reads messages on twitter. People calling her hot then ugly as hell. People calling her skin fair, them saying it looks lile dirt. People calling her a slut, then people saying she’s too covered.
Hyuna huffs, she really can’t tell if people hate her or not.
Luka’s day goes a little like this.
Immediately as he wakes up, he’s sent to some beauty salon to get makeup smeared on his face. He’s getting shouted at people callimg him ugly and fat. He’s only 45kg(100lb) and 174cm(5’7ft). Yet people still call him fat. He’s barely alive. Hanging on by the beauty and kindness of *****.
Makeup is put on his skin too, his hair is curled at the tips. Perhaps his only face is to be the doll of these beauty-obsessed people.
Till’s day is arguably more painfully boring. All his band does is argue over song lyrics as Till just tries to figure our riffs on his guitar. He was at the same audition for the group KISS-HEART. He was deemed too ugly for the group’s image however. He had met someone there though who’d made it. Ivan. Ivan was weird, dammit was he attractive though. He stole the judges hearts the second he arrived. In private with just Till though. He did weird things. He’d hurt Till a bit, like pinching his arm to the point of bleeding, then licking the blood off. Ivan no longer mattered. Or more specifically, Till didn’t matter. He’d fail no matter what anyways. Till huffed as the harsh voices of his band mates continued to argue.
Sua had it nicely. More comfortable then not. But being a closeted lesbian with highly religious people worshipping you was annoying. At her new set, she was playing a main character for a rom-con. The character was innocent and clueless, similar to what people thought of her, but opposite of what she’d actually done. She was filthy on the inside. Her newest single was caller heart, it was a big hit. She wrote sweet melodies and sang them. They often gained tons of views and likes. She’d never get too much hate. But oh the amount she’d received if people knew she was lesbian.
Mizi’s day starts with her almost getting shot. People throwing stuff at her im the streets. Most days she wished she’d just die. Mizi only yearned for acceptance from the people. But atleast her dancing is good. Atleast her singing is good.
But maybe in another life she’d be called pretty.
But in this one, she isn’t. And in this life she wishes to be free from her very on body and mind. She hates this blessing people call life.
In a world such as ours, popular figures get hell and worse. Criticized for even doing what they want.
It’s hard to survive. Real hard.
But maybe they can escape hell.
Or not. Maybe they’ll just drown in their own body.
Who’s to know.
