“I told you, this one catches the audience's attention more!” Tsukasa argued, frustrated at his partner, Rui for not listening to him. “I understand Tsukasa-kun, but we simply couldn't do it because it's out of our expertise.” Rui defended, also starting to lose his composure. “But we’ve always tried things that's out of our expertise! How is this different?” Tsukasa retorted, aggressively tapping on the notebook he’s holding. “It's different because I knew you guys would be able to do it, but this? I can't imagine any of you being able to pull this off!” Rui rubbed his temples in frustration, Tsukasa groaned and stomped his feet on the ground, he crossed his arms, looking away from his lover. “So just because you're unsure suddenly it's not okay to do it!?” Tsukasa huffed.
“That's not it! I'm just concerned, are you even sure that Emu and Nene could do it?” Rui questioned, watching the other turn away. “Of course! It's Nene and Emu!” Tsukasa boasted, Rui sighed, he knows how his lover gets. “Did you ask them?” Rui asked again, receiving no reply. “I knew it.” Rui sighed again, also crossing his arms.
“Fine! Do what you want!” Tsukasa slammed the notebook down on his desk before making his way to his own bed, hiding under the blanket. Rui was dumbfounded at his pettiness, wondering what he should do. He hears the constant huff and groans of the other, proving that he's angry, his own way of defying Rui. Knowing this won't be fixed easily, he packed all of his stuff into his bag, making his way to the door. “If you're going to be like that, then I’m going home.” Rui announced, watching the blanket shift slightly. “Whatever!” Tsukasa answered, tossing around to wrap the blanket around him even more. Rui immediately left the house, giving a quick wave to Saki who didn't try to get him to stay, she heard their very loud conversation yet decided not to say anything. Realizing that Tsukasa might feel lonely, he shed off his cardigan, leaving it on their couch before putting on his shoes and walking out of the house. Saki simply sipped her tea, letting them fix their problem on their own.
When Tsukasa went down for dinner, he immediately noticed the cardigan draped over their couch. He stared at it as if it offended him, he stubbornly turned away from it, he went to the kitchen, staring at their mom cutting the ingredients for their meal. Saki happily helped her and chatted about how Honami's brother, Haru, had grown 3 centimeters according to Honami. His eyes drifted off towards the cardigan, as if taunting him.
Tsukasa finally gave in, approaching the couch, observing the cardigan, wondering if there's a recording gadget on it that Rui may use to take advantage of him, even though he knows his director wouldn't dare invade his privacy. He lifted the clothing off the couch, wondering what he should do with it. ‘I should give it back tomorrow.’ Tsukasa thought, yet he doesn't want to face Rui after their argument. ‘I know what I’m capable of too! He always supported me trying out new things yet when he doubts us suddenly we can't do it? I know I can do it! I'm a star after all! He just doesn't understand that he could trust us more.’
As Saki turns back to his brother after helping their mother cut the ingredients, she saw her brother wearing Rui's cardigan, looking away with a pout. ‘He’s mad yet he still likes to show off his love for Rui-san.’ Saki really couldn't understand her brother sometimes. She secretly took a picture of her sulking brother and sent it to Rui.
“Please make up soon (。•̀ᴗ-)✧”
Rui stared at the message and at the image of Tsukasa looking off into the distance with an angry face. Still upset about not being able to do what he wants. Sure he loves his star but sometimes he can be too much. He placed his phone down, not wanting to think about him for now.
He stared at his blank sketchbook, tapping the pen at the edge of it, he stared at the clean paper, trying to hold himself back. Frustrated, he groaned, dropping the pencil on to the desk, rubbing his face and finally opening his messages with Saki again. He saved the photo, deciding not to reply to her message, yet slightly thankful for the photo. ‘He simply doesn't understand how dangerous it is for their mental health to try something all of us have no experience doing. I know he's stubborn, but not this much!’ Rui complained silently, brushing his hair back. ‘I just want him to understand that I want to keep their mentality healthy.’
The next day at school, Tsukasa went to school forgetting his own vest and blazer. He felt a little cold yet decided to do his duty anyway, checking the uniforms of his school mates, rubbing his arms from time to time, trying to make it seem like everything's fine. ‘A simple wind wouldn't knock me down!’ He boasted, almost missing a student with an untucked uniform. He noticed Rui arriving wearing his old cardigan, noticing that it's a little tight on him now. Tsukasa’s pout immediately resurfaced. “Hey! I already placed your cardigan on your desk, and you tuck your shirt in!” Tsukasa scolded, Rui looked done but simply nodded, not even giving Tsukasa the time of his day. Tsukasa stomped his foot lightly.
The blonde shivered, feeling a strong wind hit his skin. ‘Back to reality I suppose.’ Tsukasa tried to focus on his duty until the bells rang and someone collected their notes. He made his way to his class, finding Rui's cardigan still on his desk with a note on top of it.
Forgot your blazer? Just use my cardigan for a while.
Tsukasa smiled at his thoughtfulness before catching himself and realizing that he should be mad. He sat down on his seat, he refused to wear it, simply using it as a pillow while waiting for their teacher to arrive. Not until someone suddenly opened the window, complaining about a smell. Shivering, he immediately wore the cardigan, hooking the buttons and hugging himself as close as possible. ‘Maybe I was being too stubborn, Rui's just too considerate, maybe he sees something that I don't when it comes to acting that part.’ Tsukasa concluded, starting to feel a bit guilty.
He glanced at Rui looking out the window in thought, he then fixed his gaze at the sleeves covering his hand. ‘I’ll do it by lunch time.’ He suddenly sat up straight, pumping his fist in determination, his classmates looked at him weirdly yet it didn't matter, he needed to apologize to Rui as soon as possible.
He hurriedly went to Rui's desk as soon as the bell rang, not wanting to waste any time and not giving the younger one a chance to escape. “Let's eat lunch together?” He invited, unsure of himself. “Sure, but where's your lunch?” Rui asked, pointing at his desk. He watched as Tsukasa looked up in thought before his expression went into mortification. “I also forgot to make lunch.” Tsukasa admitted, seeing a small crack at Rui's facade in the way his mouth twitched upward in amusement. “Let's just buy lunch.” Rui led the way, Tsukasa decided on a Yakisoba bun happily, while Rui grabbed a random sandwich. They made their way to the rooftop, sitting near the fence and leaning on the said fence.
The blonde stared at his food, deciding not to eat it for now. “Rui?” He called out, hearing the other hum in acknowledgment. “I'm sorry for being stubborn. I guess I overestimated my abilities and made trouble for you again, I’m sure there's a good reason for you to not want us to play it, but I just thought that since me and the girls are always improving, I thought I could speed it up by choosing that play. You're our director, I should've listened to you.” Tsukasa finally apologized, refusing to look at his lover out of guilt. “I'm sorry too, as your director, I should've also listened to you and I’m in charge of making your ideals come true, yet I decided to thwart it just because I’m worried too much pressure could take a toll in your minds. I just want you and the girls to keep enjoying theater. I also should’ve tried understanding your perspective more. As your director, and as your boyfriend.” Rui held his slightly bitten sandwich, the silence filling the space between them.
“I think we should modify the play to fit into our standards and also ask the girls for their opinions.” Tsukasa immediately suggested, nervously playing with the wrapper of the bun. “That works, we’re both able to get what we want.” Rui awkwardly replied, silence overcoming them again.
The blonde couldn't take it anymore, he laid out his handkerchief on the ground before placing his food on top of it, he immediately went closer to Rui, holding on the taller's shoulders before leaning in to kiss him. Rui gave in and left his own food at his thighs, holding Tsukasa’s waist as they continued kissing. They both pulled away, foreheads bumping and staring at each other. “You look cute in my cardigan.” Rui immediately commented, watching as Tsukasa smiled proudly. “Well of course! I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to appearances!” Tsukasa boasted, moving away just so he could finally eat. “I'm very lucky.” Rui fueled his ego, taking another bite of his sandwich. “Please finish eating Tsukasa-kun, we have a lot of make-up kisses to accomplish.” Rui teased.
“HAH!?”
