Work Text:
Living without the Doctor was strange. Ace knew that it had been her time to leave, but now her life just felt empty. The Doctor had hurt her, yes, but he had also made her life so much better.
The Doctor had became a parental role model that she never really had when she was growing up, with her father leaving and her mother being her interesting self. The Doctor was her real first sense of security other than her one off chemistry teacher, the one with the short blonde bob.
He was her safety blanket, and her harsh nightmare.
