Work Text:
The sky turned a dark, gloopy black. No one knew what was going on… not even the host who could’ve stopped it a while ago.
Two lay in their bed, food bags scattered all around. Ever since the Yoylite incident, they were like this. She was gone, and they couldn’t do anything to help.
When they first found out, they waited for everyone to fall asleep. Then they typed her name into the recovery center: G-A-T-Y. No response.
They tried again. And again. And again. Each time, they became more and more scared that she had been… erased somehow. Their eyes swelled with tears, their breath shaking.
They gave up and went back to their room, lying down and sobbing until they lost consciousness.
Four was the first person to check in on them when they didn’t show up on time the next morning. They knocked at their door. “Two…?” No response.
When they opened the door, they immediately checked on Two to see if they were OK, but there was no response. They didn’t share any words until the day the sky turned dark.
And on that day, Two sat on their bed like any other day. They ignored the sky turning dark, they ignored the screams from the hotel, and they ignored the powerless feeling they hadn’t felt since that faithful day, back on their home planet.
Their focus shifted from the torn photo sitting on their bed to the whiteboard that was knocked on the floor. Two had always wondered why they heard Fanny and Ice Cube talking over there, though they were disassociated so they didn’t even care.
…ah, screw it. They weren’t gonna feel better anyway, and they were getting bored.
Finally getting up for the first time in months, they walked over to the whiteboard and straightened it up, before beginning to read its contents.
Something about a dealmaker, hiding nearby, the missing posters, a drawing of One… wait, what?
Two’s eyes darted toward the drawing of the algebralien that they thought was long gone. They had seen Four and the others carry her away, where had she been all this time?!
Before they could gather their thoughts more, the room began to shake and distort. Two heard a horrible scream before everything went dark.
