Hawks stumbled through Dabi's window, adrenaline coursing through his body. His eyes darted to Dabi's bed, only to see the villain asleep. Hawks cursed under his breath, turning back to the window. He wasn't waking Dabi up for this. He was fine, right? No, that was probably just the adrenaline talking.
"Birdie."
Hawks' heart jumped in his chest as Dabi's cold voice rang through his ears, filling the once silent room. Hawks didn't reply, he just turned back around to face Dabi.
Dabi stood up drowsily, pulling Hawks over to his bed without much question.
"...Dabi-"
Hawks grunted, before letting out a shrill scream. Dabi froze, staring at the bird as he crumpled over in pain. "Hawks, what the fuck?!"
Dabi hissed, getting to his knees and placing a hand on Hawks back in confusion. Which only made Hawks scream louder.
Tomura groaned. What the fuck was going on? It was 2.47am in the fucking morning. As Tomura came to, he recognised the loud sound that woke him as a scream. He scrambled out of his bed, slipping on his slippers (that were definitely NOT stolen) and ran down the hallway, following the sound of the screaming. He stopped in front of Dabi's door, before ramming it open and pausing at the sight of Hawks crumpled over while Dabi wrestled his shirt off of him and- oh.
Oh Tomura felt sick.
Listen, Tomura was a villain, he knew that. He knew torture wounds. He'd never seen any litter someone's back in the most cruel, unforgiving way. It honestly made him want to vomit. Dabi looked up at Tomura in desperation. "What the fuck are you waiting for?! Go fucking get Kurogiri!"
Tomura's face paled as he stared at the wounds for a few more moments, before sprinting further down the League's hallway. He slammed his fists on Kurogiri's door and yelled through it, trying to wake the misty bastard. "KUROGIRI! GET THE FUCK UP!"
Kurogiri, in no time, appeared at the door. "Hawks-.. is..." Tomura panted, pointing down towards Dabi's room as he tried to regain his breath. Kurogiri somehow understood whatever Tomura was rambling about, warping his way to Dabi's room. He, unlike Tomura and Dabi, didn't react. He just knelt down next to Hawks to check over the wounds.
"Dabi. Get whatever frozen things you can come across in the freezer, and get the numbing oil from the cabinet above the sink."
Dabi looked worriedly at Hawks for a moment, but nodded, running off into the base. Kurogiri muttered a few words to Hawks to attempt to calm him, but he didn't excpect it to work, and ta-da, it didn't. Whatever adrenaline that was rushing through him was long gone now. Kurogiri was surprised. Adrenaline usually wears off when you feel safe. Right? So Hawks feels safe with the League? Maybe Kurogiri will have to tell Tomura to revisit his Traitor Hawks theory that he was dead set on.
Dabi rushed back into the room, numbing oil in one hand, two bags of ice in the other, Tomura behind him with another bag. Kurogiri took the numbing oil. "Hawks, this'll sting." He muttered, before slowly pouring a little bit of the oil on Hawks' back. Another scream pierced the air, Hawks' hands grabbing uselessly at the carpet.
"Dabi-kun..?"
A small voice murmured, Toga appearing in the doorway. Tomura instantly blocked her view. "Toga. Go back to sleep. It's fine."
Toga yawned. "Who's screaming? M'awake now anyway..." Dabi grimaced and instead focused on helping Kurogiri place the ice carefully on Hawks' back, earning them another broken scream.
A few hours later, Dabi was led on the floor, his back to the bed as Hawks led on his front, his head resting on Dabi's chest. He'd fallen unconscious halfway through Kurogiri's treatment. Tomura had convinced Toga and Compress that everything was going to be okay. Dabi didnt know how to feel. Hawks was strong, yes, he knew that. But he'd never even heard the Hero yelp in pain. Nevermind scream. 'It's going to haunt me', he thinks.
"Dabi..." Hawks murmured, an eye fluttering open slightly. "Hey, pretty bird." He muttered, a hand combing unconsciously through the blondes hair. "It hurts." Hawks grunted, squeezing his eyes shut, as tight as he could.
"I know. I know. I can tell. Here, take some more painkillers. It might ease it a bit. A bit."
"Dabi?"
"Yeah?"
"Why are they allowed to do this to me?"
"...What?"
"Why was i made their hero? Why was it me?"
"...i don't... I don't know, Keigo."
