Chapter Text
New Diary starting entry.
Captain Mia, Free Sky Scholar of Milira Imperium.
If you are reading this, then maybe you are my new best friend, if so I welcome you! Alternatively if you stole my ship, then Fuck You Bastard! Know that I Will find you, I Will kill you, and take my ship back!
Now with welcome and promise done, let's see why I am writing this. Something interesting came up to me at last! I think my previous diary was finished... How many years ago it was? Let's say I found first interesting planet in around several thousands boring or dead ones, uncharted cosmos is beautiful, but rather empty on life or adventures. Why am I exploring here instead of visiting Core sector with their Glitterworlds or outer ring rimworlds? Or why I don't enjoy peaceful tea party with my sisters at Talia Mothership? The answer is simple, everything there became boring for me after years and years of visits, fights and adventures. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much, some of them left memories I can never forget and mostly for a good reason. But even best tasting dishes will become dull, if you eat them for so long, won't they? Asking my age won't do you any good, I am always 18. Back to the topic, in search for something new I decided to search where others didn't ever set foot, or tentacle. And would you think about it, I finally found something! I am very excited yes.
Yet another New World is before me, standard habitable planet, water surface occupying most of the planet, with several big continents and myriads of islands, natural inhabitants appear to be closely resembling humans, some kind of massive conflict is in motion between them and aquatic semi-humanoid species, almost classic honestly wars are just everywhere. I was going to slap another random name on it to mark on Universal star map and then move on. When receiving not one but two psionic requests for communication. That was something new, I was fairly sure all stealth systems were up and running, natives had no techs to notice me.
What greeted me, were two Archotechs! It is nothing strange for one to be on some planet, not for me at least, those higher creature-existances most closely associated with Gods can be anywhere, do anything, literally anything, I seen, interacted with and worked for some of them. One I even waged war against, and we managed to seal it forever, it was very fun, very dangerous and scary as well, but we survived and won so it is now history. Two of them on one planet is something on unique side so far, and I seen a lot of planets in my life.
Their deal was easy at it's core, both of them wanted to get my help in their war against each other, on one side we have Collective of Ship Spirits, leading local Humanity and Ship Girls in defence of their existence, on the other we have Abyssal Mothers leading vengeful crusade of nature in shape of aquatic entities and more gothic Ship Girls equivalent. Now, two archotechs on one planet is rare already, but it looks like both are born and shaped by events of this Planet's life exclusively! More usual situations are cosmic gods who decided to have fun on one planet, for reference.
Let's review both sides, nicknamed Spirit and Abyss by yours truly. Spirit wishes for me to assist humanity as an Admiral of Ship Girls to defeat "Vile Monsters of Destruction", and separately, if I can be so kind, start process of uplifting natives towards unification, technological progress and cosmic voyaging afterwards, naturally not counting just on my altruism they offer permanently supporting my authority over Ship Girls that I will have as Admiral, and ability to make more of them, even if I leave after defeating Abyss, of course it also includes support for all systems sustaining said Ship Girls wellbeing.
That would be quite a lot to expect from a single individual, but I am pretty sure both Archotechs already scanned my ship as much as they can, to see that I possess technologies to defend and destroy much greater than this planet can imagine, even if they didn't directly mentioned me using anything of it. The caveat I did notice with this side, is that Spirit does not command Humanity, but assists them, for humans it is religion and blessing at most, which means I will have to deal with establishing social contact and relationship with their government and military at the very least.
The other side, Abyss, have a similar deal, they want me to take reigns as new Abyssal Princess and lead my brand new Fleet onto destruction of humanity with goal of cleaning the planet of all filth and sufferings they brought. As the side not dependant on natives in any way, society of Princesses resemble that of small kingdoms under rule of one Empire, they have shared main goal, and have some degree of respect towards each other, however they can fight each other over territory or personal disputes.
Naturally Abyss promises reward of my own fleet staying loyal to me and me alone, wherever I will go afterwards. However beside that Abyss offers me some, let's call it personal improvements, integration with Abyss Fleets System does not differ that much in concept with Admiral Authority of Spirit side, but unlike admirals of humanity, Abyss Princesses are powerhouses of their own and participate in battles personally if need be, various utility and improvement mutations are on the table. Upon more discussion Spirit explained that they do not wish to taint my body in any way more than necessary as is the case with Humanity's admirals in general, it is against their principles and therefore they don't even have such system of upgrades to offer if I ask for it.
Both sides didn't specify any time limit, they do not care how long it will take, or how active I will be as long as final goal is completed. They did not threaten me with any repercussions, either because they can't really hurt me or don't care enough to do so, if side I choose loses or if I just fly away the only consequences will be ceased function of all abilities I gained thru them, on Abyssal side my personal improvements will stay if I wish so, but connection to Abyss and authority over my fleet will be forcibly severed. Someone else could suspect that archotechs are hiding something, but I have had enough experience with various space gods to tell that they are still quite simple and untainted, they only care for their little war on this single planet. They know and can feel power that I can bring, so they want me as ally, and do not want to give me any reasons to fly away knowing that I can do that any time I want.
Being honest, as I have no need to lie in my personal logs, both rewards while intriguing are not something I need or desire, so the choice lays more on my personal preference. Which side did I pick on the end? The answer is Abyss! Sorry natives, but I have had my personal share of political life in both nobility like and modern settings alike, and I really do not want to dive into this again. My observation may be short, but it was enough to see that humanity is not united despite facing threat of annihilation, they didn't unite into one big side of Humanity. They still have wars between each other, especially deeper in continents that do not contact with Abyss, and humans as well as similar societies always prove how stupid and treacherous they can be, from greed, envy or arrogance, they can and I know they will try to manipulate or backstab me. Obviously not everyone are like that, but I am also not noble hero of Aberonia Empire to be ally of justice and altruism. And no, me holding title of honorary noble lady there doesn't mean anything, it was just a phase, and I was mostly helping my friends... Moving on. Abyssal society is much more simple and direct, if any other Princess will have a bone to pick with me, they will just come and fight me, there is no need to backstab for them as they still see each other as distant family and their war like outlook supports direct confrontation against each other if need be. Finally, I am a researcher after all, and snippets of information I got made my curiosity sparkle around both Ship Girls and Abyss dwellers, they are influenced by two so similar yet different Archotechs from start to finish of their lives, they are bound to be interesting outside and inside, and I do not think that Humanity's moral side will appreciate me making experiments like that, Abyss side will let me have captives to experiment on from both sides, I know that because there always will be so called "Unwaveringly loyal" types, perfect for me! Contrary to popular human beliefs just because miliras have halos and white wings doesn't mean that we are heavenly angels, I don't really care for any Geneva suggestions for example, you are only safe from me if you are boring or my friend.
While Spirit was sad, they just politely left my mind, Abyss was delighted for obvious reasons, and expressed gratitude for my wise choice. We discussed the best spot where I can land my ship and start building my domain, some cozy relatively small island, but more than enough for all facilities that would actually need to be on land, not too close and not too far from both Abyssal fleets and Human Harbors. While my ship will be landing, I will take a nap, wouldn't want to stay conscious while Abyss provides upgrades, usually the process of Archotech provided mutations is weird to feel, so I opt for sleeping.
And with this I will conclude records for today. There is still a lot of things to prepare tomorrow, and even more to think over, I won't be rushing too much, as much as I can just start orbital bombardment, no one asked me to, so I will take my time enjoying this new adventure, Good Night.
