If Klein made Gehrman a different type of insane

Summary:

If Mingrui looked at his need for acting and went in a completely different direction

Notes:

this truthfully did begun as me writing Gehrman with Mingrui's face. I think. Idk I dug this up from my drafts folder idk when I wrote this.

Work Text:

Klein looked at a stern face, showing a face a bit familiar to him, but so different. A european face looked at him in the mirror. It just felt wrong. He knew that was the point of the whole identity. To be furthest from him as possible, to digest the potion.

But for a moment, he just wanted to be Zhou Mingrui again. Not Klein, not sherlock, just Zhou Mingrui. Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, after all he hasn't seen this face in a mirror in a long time.

Maybe for once he can be just a bit selfish?

After all, even with . . .

even with a face like Zhou Mingrui's he can be crazy too. He can act and be different as possible.

He can still match the digestion criteria with his old face

The digestion is not about his physical appearance.

Though, cold and stern doesn't really match well aesthetically to this face doesn't it?

Danitz sat at a table slowly sipping a full mug of beer. He sighed in pleasure. Really, it was so nice to be off that boat. Even if he can't bear being away from his captain, it's still nice to just relax without being shoved a book after a book down his throat.

Thinking of books again, it reminded him off the homework his captain sent him off with. Still mostly blank sitting in his luggage. A thought that shoved away every happy feelings he was feeling at the moment.

Just then the door was opened with a big squeak. And walked in an elf?

The elf looked young and inexperienced. Full of hope and ambition. Made it an exotic sight to behold. Pure blooded elf like that hasn't been seen for ages.

He waltzed in like he owned the place apologizing with an awkward expression for his loud entrance , and sat with a harumph on the barstool. Causing the bartender to raise a brow.

"A cup of sweet ice tea please!" He laughed as he ordered, like it was a banter between friends. His order, combined with his attitude broke away the last remnants of vigilance in the pirates eyes. Really, this poor elf has the survival skills of a demented goldfish.

A bunch of rowdy pirated gathered around the elf, who did not seem even a bit concerned. Only rotating his head to make eye contact with the pirates. He smiled.

"Can one of such distinguished gentlemen give me any current news?" He grabbed his cup of ice tea by the rim and held it like a cup of alcohol, making everyone laugh. One of the nearest pirate ordered a plate of cured meat, placed them in between them. In response, the elf happily partook in. Gobbling it up.

"Hey, pretty thing. What about a night or two at my place huh?? Cured meat is quite expensive you know? I'm afraid you can't pay otherwise" This caused everyone surrounding the elf to laugh again.

"You know, as a informant for some very important people, It would be a shame if some people got wind of things. After all, elves are quite rare" The newly coined informant ran a finger along his thigh.

"How sleazy" Danitz grumbled, and ran over the pros and cons (coined by emperor Roselle) that might be incurred by his actions of saving him. Something his captain had beaten into him a while ago. Wait, why was he even thinking of that. He can't just let a poor-

"Really?" The elf simply looked up at the pirate with a blank confused look, like an idiot. The pirate got more impatient and made a move to pull the elf onto his lap. This caused the first change on his face of the night.

His eyes became narrow crescents, and his mouth stretched impossibly wide looking like it was being cut open by the mere act of him smiling. He grabbed the remainder of the plate with one hand and the the pirate's face with the other and forced him to open it with one forceful motion. And he simply shoved it in, uncaring if the man struggled in his hands. When the man tried to cough it back up obviously choking, he frowned. The first time he showed anything but the weird joyful held.

"You are being rude. Feasting on such a luxurious dinner, shouldn't you be a little more appreciative? Let me help you." He started smiling again, this time grabbing his gun from holster.

"Don't move too much " And he cooed as he slowly stared shoving still firm and heavy cured meat in with his revolver. "After all the gun safety is off"

"So anyway, what is his bounty?" The elf cocked his head in one direction. Looking more like a bored aristocrat

"What?" Finally, the bartender sputtered out.

"The bounty!" He said again bit with more force.

"He- He doesnt have a bounty, he likes to scam people using a pirate admiral's name" This caused almost every patron to walk up and spit on the now blue faced man.

"Oh, Ughh what a waste of labor" The elf jumped off his barstool landing once strongly on the man's stomach causing him to gurgle in pain.

Just as the bartender was about to sigh in relief, the elf grabbed the glass and overturned over him. Maybe because he drank too well, there were only a few drops left. This caused the elf to huff and hit the glass over the counter breaking it, then he used the sharp glass bottom to press the man down, smiling as he did so.

"A reminder for the road"

Later

Klein in his room desperately wiping his gun down again and again. Gagging as he did so

"Why! Why did I do this. Oh my fucking gosh. How stinky can a guy's mouth be. Fucking hell, I can still smell it"

---

Danitz met the man the elf in an alleyway.

Before the whole incident, he thought about extending the Invitation to the Golden Dream as a protection. Although they were a pirate crew, Danitz thought that their more relic seeking, knowledgeable captain and crew would be more suited for this silly guy than the open seas.

But now he followed behind the elf for a completely different reason. Although Danitz found this guy a bit too cheery and weird, it would be an understatement to call this guy skilled. So he thought, by recruiting this guy he could be seen more favorable to his Captain.

He walked out of the shadows, but the elf didn't jump in suprise as he expected. Right, this guy is probably too skilled to be scared by something like this.

As if he expected it, the elf stopped, his back squarely facing him, the only sign that he knew he was there was the slight turn of his head to let one of his eyes train on him.

He coughed a few times

"Your way of handling things and strength impressed me. And i wanted to invite you to my pirate crew."

"Although that guy named Logan was indeed pretending to be an informant of Ludwell, he still can be a pain in the ass for you later on. With your unique lineage, you must be careful. Without a group to rely on, you will have to spend the rest of your life on edge"

"You must have come to the sea with dreams of treasure right? If you were any smarter you would have never come out at sea otherwise. As for us, we are a bunch of people who have come together to hunt for treasure at sea"

We dont have any weekly salaries but once we find treasure, or obtain riches from plundering, they'll be distributed according to our ranks. Normally, when our luck is still pretty good, the lowest ranking sailor can earn about two to three hundred pounds a year. I heard that this would make one a member of the middle- class on land? Heh heh, if we find the Sunken Laurel, all of us will become tycoons!" Danitz introduced becoming more and more excited.

"According to our ranks, we would get different days off every month, and you can collect them and use them all together. I'm actually on vacation at this moment."

"One time we actually had a chance to discover some lost treasures of the Solomon era but we couldn't follow it through because Captain was on vacation"

"Oh, I was rambling wasn't I? Let me introduce myself again " Danitz finally calmed down to see the elf standing there in a daze.

"My name is Blazing Danitz, the subordinate of vice admiral Iceberg." He flamboyant puffed out his chest.

But the elf did not show any fear or admiration. He simply turned.

"Blazing Danitz with the bounty of 3000 pounds?" The elf's smile became so wide that it hurt just looking at it. And as if the mask had slipped, Danitz suddenly felt the oppressive pressure of hunger and madness fall upon him.

"Hehe, so you're on vacation right? So you probably wont mind helping a friend out with some information

---

Danitz finally let out his held breath as the cheery elf skipped away from him.

Damn that was dangerous, forget about recruiting him onto golden dream. He almost brought back a demon in disguise.

Who knew such a kind looking face harbor such a personality.

He is never going near that man again.

---

Danitz wanted to shed tears as he moved the elf's belongings to his own room on the ship.

"Chop Chop, quicker!" It would also help if Gehrman sparrow, he would later learn, wasn't making this process harder by forcing him to also piggyback him while he was carrying the things. He was already experiencing the world of pain by losing his first class room to him, and being forced to take the attached servants quarters, he did not had to make it even more humiliating.

---

Alger sat face to face with Mr.World. This mysterious guy, who was probably Mr.Fool’s follower.

Mr.World took off his hood, letting Alger see his face for the first time. It was an elf. His hands shook. And he had to take a moment to calm himself. It did not matter what Mr.World was, as long as both parties got what they wanted.

His face twitched and he found it a struggle to actually open his mouth to negotiate. It was mostly due to how Mr.world or rather Gehrman sparrow was seated. Completely relaxed with no tension of awareness what so ever. It was so different from the tarot clubs that it might as well be a different person. Was this just his relaxed form? After all even the lousiest guy would fix his behavior in front of a god

Was he that powerful that he just simply doesn't think I'm a threat? Or does he have a helper, an even stronger person who can erase me on the spot? How terrifying.

Alger straightened his back. To be honest he would rather make this meeting by a more covert way, who would've thought that gehrman would take one look at his outfit and laugh, dragged him into a private room for 'consultation'

"So the matter of cooperation. What is your plan?" This made Gehrman finally stop fidgeting with the weird wheel toy he had in one hand. A fidget spinner designed by emperor Roselle if he was correct

"Hmm? Oh I just plan on running in there and start shooting. I'll have to disguise as Danitz to get closer though" This completely caught Alger off guard. Who in their right mind- Never mind, it's not his business.

He just simply rose up, the mandated punishers will be using artifacts from the sleepless pathway.

And he walked off, whatever that mad man wants to do is not his problem

---

Alger's pupil shook as he heard what happened from a mandated punisher who partook in the hunt.

It was obvious.

Gehrman wasn't just some mad man. From what was described, he obviously had a plan.

A meticulous one .

A plan so masterful that to most people it looked like it was the random movements of a mad man.

How can a man be so lucky that he can easily avoid attacks and have his hits hit so perfectly that they force opponents into the perfect placement for him?

"How terrifying" he muttered. This madness of his was a facade but. . .

Listening to the story

How can a man play so calmly with his life as the wager.

Maybe it's a different type of madness he has.

Helene sat in a carriage she didn't know the destination of. Her only company , a weird man who had walked in.

"So Miss Helene, I can call you Miss Helene right? I have a very simple questionnaire for you"

She shrank back into her seat. This guy seriously creeped her out. But she still unwillingly nodded in response out of fear for her own life.

"Okay, So let's all a little bit about you! Can you tell me how a fair lady like yourself have arrived at sea?" The strange man talked in a very weird way. Loud and clear, with emphasis on pretty much every syllable.

"So. . uhhh"

"Miss, truthfully I have nothing against you. I just wanna disguise as you and attempt to kill your old lover"

---

Helene in a lonely little hole picked up a newspaper detailing events at sea.

Reading the headline over and over again she scoffed. That man truly did just that. Still her respect for the man will never be able to recover from seeing him running off in a dress.

Before even disguising himself as her.

Truly a weird man.
