All This Time

Summary:

 image

A story about timing.

About liking someone when you're not supposed to.
About falling for a friend when things aren't simple.
About confusion and self-doubt.
About staying close even when your heart wants to run.

This story follows Pansa and Loveruk.
Two people who were almost something for a long time.
They become real friends.
The type of friends where you share snacks, show up without asking,
and pretend it's nothing when it's obviously something.

Notes:

This is the third arc from my series set that features MilkLove.
This story is more like a flashback to about how they started way back in uni,
Emi and View still in this story, plus an introduction of Namtan as Pansa's twin.
I do hope you would enjoy this one too...

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The beach looks like something out of a screensaver.
White sand, clear blue water, sun just starting to set low.
Everything looks golden, quiet and kind of unreal.

Pansa is curled up under a shady canopy with drink in her hand.
She is watching the waves and listening to the lazy rustle of palm trees.

Beside her, Loveruk is lying back on a lounge chair.
Her hair still damp from swimming.
Her eyes are closed but clearly awake.
She’s smiling.
That soft real kind of smile she only gets when she’s truly relaxed.

It’s their anniversary trip.
Five years official.

But honestly?
If they’re counting from the very beginning including the awkward group projects, the missed signals, the semester-long silence.. it’s been more like six.

They booked the nicest beach resort they could agree on.
Private villa where breakfast is served as seen on fancy Pinterest board.
Soft towels that smell like coconuts.
Loveruk picked it out, of course.

“You never let yourself chill properly,”
she said while scrolling through hotel reviews.
“Let me spoil you just this once.”

Pansa let her be.
She usually does.

They barely said much today.
They just exchanged a few sleepy comments about the ocean, snacks, and what time to swim again.
But it’s that kind of silence that feels full instead of awkward.

Then Loveruk speaks with eyes still closed.
“You thinking about it too?”

Pansa turns to her, eyebrow raised.
“Thinking about what?”

Loveruk cracks one eye open and grins at her.
“Us. The chaos. How it all started.”

Pansa hums.
“A little. You mean the part where you disapeared for one whole semester?”

“You did ignore me at first.”

“I don't.. plus I'm usually quiet.”
Pansa says, deadpan.

“You were being mysterious.”

Pansa snorts. “You were being dramatic.”

Loveruk shrugs. “Still worked.”

They both laugh.
The sound melts into the wind like it belongs there.
It’s easy now..
It's that kind of easiness that only comes after getting through the hard parts.

“Want me to tell it from the start, why do i have to ghost you?”
Loveruk says, sitting up just enough to lean against her.

Pansa leans back and put her arm casually around her girlfriend's waist.
“You sure you wanna go back to the mess?”

“Might as well,” Loveruk says, smile tugging at her lips.
“We lived through it anyway. Kinda cute in hindsight.”

Pansa looks out at the water.
The way the sunlight hits the waves is just right at that moment.
Then she nods slowly.

“Okay... if you want to..”

And just like that, the past starts to unfold again..

It's messy, slow, a little confusing.. but worth it.

All of it.
