The Redewrick had always been really attached towards one specific little rock that he had been keeping since "birth" (if we can call his gain of consiusness a birth). This rock at first sight seemed like a normal rock, but if you took a look closer, you could note that the rock had pyrite and quartz encrusted on it; so probably that was the reason why the Redewrick had been attached towards that rock, because he found it pretty.
The scientists, curious about what could be the Redewrick reaction at being separated from his rock; decided to send someone to try take the rock from him.
This ended in the Redewrick attacking and the equip sent and then later that night a visit from the Spore Reaper himself.
This ended up with 10 members of the staff dead and the scientists learnt that it was better to leave the Spore Reaper and the Redewrick alone
