Cold, blank, darkness.
That’s what Noodle saw and felt when she closed her eyes. She couldn’t sleep at all, because she no longer had any dreams anymore. What was there to dream about, anyway?
She opened her eyes, her tail twitching. She couldn’t do this. She couldn’t sleep. She just curled up into a ball with her eyes wide open. Then she heard her girlfriend speak.
“What’s wrong, love?” Macaroni asked, her tail curling in slight concern.
“Can’t sleep..” Noodle muttered.
“C’mere, love.” Macaroni replied.
Noodle scooted closer, still curled up. “What?” She asked Macaroni, looking at her with slight frustration.
Macaroni pulled Noodle into a hug, holding her tightly.
“Oh..” Noodle whispered, holding onto Macaroni. She didn’t want to let go, not yet, not ever.
“Go to sleep, hon’.” Macaroni whispered.
Noodle held onto Macaroni even tighter, definitely not letting go of her. She loved her.
And soon, Noodle fell asleep. But this time, she had something–or someone–to dream about.
