Chapter Text
Danny turned his head to look at all the colors of the leaves around them as Jason drove them down what was a path barely wide enough for Jason’s motorcycle, “It’s really pretty.” The comm in his helmet let Jason hear him easily.
“Don’t worry it’s going to get better than this.”
Humming he didn’t push for details as Jason drove them to wherever they were going to have their date.
Eventually they ended up in a clearing with a strange craft. Danny could definitely tell it was for air travel but it didn’t look like any jet he had ever seen. It didn’t look like anything he had really seen.
Stopping the bike next to a man standing next to the craft Jason took his helmet off to smile at him, “Hey Roy.”
“Good to see you all in one piece and not covered in bandages for once,” Roy chuckled, “not that that says much. Is this the famous Danny then?”
“That’s me,” Danny more phased off the bike than got off in the normal way, “are you the famous best friend Roy?”
“Ah Jaybird you’ve been talking about us?”
Jason rolled his eyes, accepting Danny’s helmet and clicking it to his bike, “I met his friends early on, now that I’ve tricked him into staying, I thought it would be safe to expose him to you.”
“Hey! I wouldn’t sabotage you!” Roy was grinning, obviously joking with Jason, “At least not on purpose.”
“Exactly what I was afraid of.” Jason lightly, for him, punched Roy in his shoulder, “Where’s Kori? And are we going to be graced by another princess today?”
“Kori’s in the ship No Lian though, she’s got an ear infection so no flying. You’ll have to come by Star soon. She’s missing her Uncle Jay-Jay.”
Jason thought for a moment, “Next Wednesday? I don’t have plans that Tuesday or Wednesday so I shouldn’t get caught up in anything.”
“Sounds good, and I think our other princess is a bit nervous about meeting Danny.”
Kori stepped from the ship, “I am not nervous. I wished to let you greet him first as we can be of the much to meet.” She turned to Danny, “Greetings Jason’s inamorato. I am Kori.”
Danny’s hand grabbed Jason’s hand trying to restrain himself from making a fool out of himself by bouncing or going full out asking questions. He was meeting an actual alien! “Hi! It’s really cool to meet you!”
“What am I?” Roy complained, “Chopped liver? I mean it’s my ship we're going to be using to go on your date with Jaybird.”
Danny blinked, “Ship? Why do we need a ship?”
“How else are you getting to the moon?”
“Moon?” Danny turned to stare at Jason, “We’re going to the moon?”
“Yeah,” Jason grinned at Danny’s excitement, “Dark side so as not to screw up any photos of the moon. I know you like the stars but I thought a walk on the moon would make a pretty good first anniversary of dating.”
Danny pulled Jason in to kiss him, “It’s an awesome thing! I can’t believe it’s been a year, oh no,” Danny’s eyes blew wide, “I didn’t get you anything.”
“You don’t need to but I’m fine with waiting if you want to. I know time can get confusing for you with school, the ghost zone, and being a hero.”
Danny blushed, “You didn’t lose track and you're busy too.”
“A crime lord has to be very on dates and anyways I was raised by Batman and Talia. I couldn’t lose track of time if I wanted to. Now let’s get on. You can quiz Kori all about her solar system on the way there, or Roy about the ship.”
Definitely bouncing now Danny all but pulled Jason on board.
