The clanking of the detectives boots as they walk back into the room, finishing an examination of the kitchen. As they examine the dead body again, they noticed a strange detail.
The ring upon the dead body's hand was missing.
As they thought about how the ring could disappear, they noticed something in the window, Back in a alleyway, a young lady was running as soon as she could to Baker Street.
“OH, DAMN YOU PICK POCKET!“ cried out one of the detectives, as the girl ran away with a smile on her face.

Gina was walking down on baker street, twirling something in her hand. She was on a good mood, why, wouldn't anyone be? She was gonna be rich. She snatched a valuable golden ring! she wiped the oil off with her jacket as she thought about her future. She was gonna quit the pickpocketing job, and get a house by selling the ring and taking all the money! Because looking at this ring, you could immediately tell, it was worth everything.
And as she daydreamed about her future, her chain of thoughts decided to stop at a certain Japanese girl. Susato mikotoba. Gina snapped out of her woolgathering, why on earth did her thoughts lead to her specifically?
The first time she met Miss mikotoba was in a court case, when she way trying to cover up that rich mans murder. The first thing she noticed in that room was the daintiness of the judicial assistant. Her hair, her clothes, her focused eyes, it was all… i don't know, Bewildering? as gina testified, all that was on her mind was the angelic features of the assistants face. And she was quite unhappy when the case was over. Gina completely forgot all about McGilded, yeah he died. So what? All she could care about ever since then was Miss mikotoba.
After that, they met a bit more. But it was no other than subtle glances or waves, or at least.. Gina was waving, not miss mikotoba. She would just look back and focus on something else. Which.. broke ginas heart a bit.
But why think of her now? It's been.. what? Weeks after that case? She's probably never gonna see gina after that, but lucky gina, she managed to glance at the carriages and found her. The one and only her. Miss susato mikotoba. Who couldn't notice her light and bright kimounou? Or whatever that's spelled.. but Gina spontaneously and without thinking, chased down that carriage.

Susato was glancing out at the streets, while naruhodo-san was sleeping. He had a very stressful day, and all he wanted to do after that investigation is to get a hotel and pass out on their soft beds. Susato was rather feeling hungry too, she couldn't wait for the carriage to stop and announce that they're at their designated place, and as she passed down baker street, she was halted by a nudge on her shoulder. She snapped back to the empty seat beside her, which was no longer empty, as well.. gina was sitting there.
“OH DE-”
“SHHH!“ Gina blocked off susatos mouth “Don't make a sound, They'll notice me!“ She quietly hissed, and let go of susatos mouth.
Susato shut her mouth, probably out of fear. As she calmed down, she turned back to Miss lestrade.
“What… what are you doing here?!“
“Ermm… well.. it's just that..“
“Y-You need to pay for this ride! Don't tell me you're gonna break into this carriage!“
“Wot? no! I don't break into carriages, that's too damn 'igh value for me! I only break my way into omnibuses!“
“We both know that's not true, miss Lestrade.“
“..Ok fine, I'll admit that; but that's not why i came in 'ere for!“
Susato turned away from gina and stared down at the ground in thought, and turned back to gina
“Are you here to steal from a specific target, miss lestrade?“
“Ughhh.. No! I…”
Gina stared at the ring, she could absolutely live a fulfilling life with this ring, but, looking at susato...
“ 'old out yer hand for me”
“Oh?“
Gina, though contemplating her choice, slipped the ring onto susatos ring finger. Susato… didn't even know what to say, or do, or think, she stared at her finger with wide eyes, while gina was sitting there, awkwardly blushing.
“…did you steal this Gina.“ susato glared at gina. Susatos glare would send shivers down a devils back, and so would it for Gina, but gina was more focused on the fact that.. susato called her gina instead of Lestrade.
“…m..maybe.“ gina put her head down in defeat. She has never felt bad for pickpocketing anything, so this is a first.
“…as much as i hate crime… i hate the fact that i love this.“ susato defeatedly smiled “it's.. quite beautiful, the best gift ever received, even though it came from bad intentions.“
Gina has never felt more relief. It felt like three horses has been lifted from her back, oh how bad she wanted to marry susato and take her away from all human civilization, and live on a hill with cows and a goat, and-maybe that's too soon.
“It's real valuable too.“ Gina added “i was planning on selling it and buying a small 'ouse instead of sleeping on the street again but.. then i saw you and thought that.. it might be better if YOU 'eld onto it.“ She admitted. Susato had never been more bewildered. She stared at her ring finger again. The ring was a thick real gold, with a beautiful diamond sitting on it. It sure looked like it was valuable.
“Then.. then you should keep it, gina.“ Susato took the ring off her finger and planted it back in ginas hand.
“N-no! I got it for you meself!“ gina pushed it back into susatos hands “i can just find another valuable thing! Keep it! It suits ya!“
“..you think it does?“ Susato asked, staring at the ring, before putting it back on her finger “well… if you insist. Even if it feels wrong.“
Susato and gina talked for a bit. It was nothing important, just about the weather and stuff… but for gina, it felt like she was gaining wisdom from an angel. After that conversation ended, susato went back to staring at her ring again.
“gina.. uhm… we're reaching our destination. I just wanted to say… uhm… thanks.“
“y-yer welcome.“
The silence finally fell, they both stared at eachother, susato was giving her an all knowing smile, while gina was just awkwardly blinking.
Gina thought this was it. This was finally time. She slowly scooted closer and closer, and to her surprise, susato did too. The sounds of the horses and the snoring of the lawyer were drowned out, all gina could focus on was susato and susato only, the things around them faded away as they got closer and closer, this was it, this was finally it. She captured susatos attention, and now they're finally gonna kiss, and then-
And then susato snapped out of it as ryuunosuke woke up. She panicked and shoved gina out of the carriage. And equally as panicked Gina climbed out of the carriage. Susato waved goodbye with a sad smile, but all that gina could feel was rage.
“Damn that lawyer, i 'ate men.“
