Work Text:
Are you free tomorrow?
The message from Marc came in a little after dinner, and Nathaniel had retired to his room, laying back on his bed and staring up at the ceiling. There was a lot on his mind right now, mostly involving the person texting him right this moment.
not really. family business
Oh. That's a shame
The speech bubble showed below, then disappeared. And it repeated the little game of loading peek-a-boo while Marc was thinking of what to send. Finally, after a couple of minutes, the message finally sent
Tomorrow is the six month anniversary of when we met
oh. wow, it's been that long?
it feels like we've known each other a lot longer than thatIs that a good thing or a bad thing?
good. obviously. it feels like i've spent years with you
❤️
if we can't do tomorrow, there's next tuesday.
that should be 6 months from when we released our first comicI can't, I'm going to visit my Grandma in Versailles.
How about the 18th? The six month anniversary of our first datethere's that festival in paris from the 16th. every where is going to be packed.
Darn
Nathaniel let his phone drop down and rest on his stomach as he returned to looking up at the roof, as if he would find an answer if he stared hard enough.
It probably wasn't the staring, but he did think of something.
how about we just go for a meal this friday?
we're both free and the date is close enough
we don't need to do something on the exact day to celebrateAre you asking me out 🫢
isn't that the point of us dating?
It is. I'd love to go out with you on Friday.
cool. where to?
Nathaniel smiled as the typing alert reappeared. They still had some details to try an iron out before this dinner, but he was looking forward to it already. Six months spent witht he most amazing writer he'd ever known.
He added the date to his calendar to remember it for next year.
