Chapter Text
"Nathan!" Abaddon yelled as he burst through the hotel doors.
He sprinted towards the ghost, and hid behind him.
"What is it buddy? Is Mothman angry at you again?" Nathan asked the demon in a light-hearted manner.
"Worse." Abaddon growled.
That is when a ghost ran through the doors of the Undervale, literally. He was tall, even taller than Nathan. On his hooked nose rested a pair glasses, and the ghost's face was dripping with sweat. He panted heavily, perhaps from chasing Abaddon.
His hair was brown and messy, and his eyes were a shade of blue that looked like it came directly from the sky.
The ghost was wearing old-timey clothing, and Nathan noticed that he had a gaping hole that went right though his chest.
"You!" The unfamilair ghost yelled as he pointed at Abaddon. He sounded out of breath.
"Give me back my son!"
"Did you forget, foolish mortal? You bound me to his body!" The demon growled back.
"Hey, hey. Let's be nice to eachother," Nathan gently said as he tried to keep the two calm.
"I'm sure that we can work this out together."
"Oh, shut your mouth!" The ghost yelled at Nathan.
He walked over to the demon.
"Woah now!" Nathan gasped. He grabbed the other ghost's arm.
"You got some slight muscle there..." he muttered under his breath.
Nathan felt a feeling of warmth creep onto his face.
"Wait..." the unfamilair ghost muttered as he grabbed Nathan's face, which was getting more red by the second. "I can touch you... You're a ghost as well!"
"Yep," Nathan awkwardly mumbled. "I sure am."
"Truely peculiar..." the ghost muttered.
"Get rid of this hellish beast with me!" He suddenly yelled as he pointed at Abaddon.
"Woah, bud! I won’t do that!"
"Why not?" The unfamilair ghost growled, his grip on Nathan's face tightening. It felt uncomfortable, but Nathan also kind of enjoyed it.
"He's kind of my son, I guess." Nathan hesitantly responded.
"Your son?! That is MY son, possesed by a demon from the depths of hell!" The ghost yelled in Nathan's face.
"Yeah, I know about the demon part..." Nathan softly said as he glanced back at Abaddon.
The demon boy was just staring at the two ghosts with no visible emotion.
Nathan then turned back to the other ghost, who still had a tight grip on his face.
"Hey, bud? Can you let go of my face?" He nervously asked, trying to not upset the angry ghost further.
But that attempt failed miserably.
The ghost only tightened his grip on Nathan's face. He slowly lifted the shorter ghost off of the ground, his sharp eyes glaring daggers at him.
It was scary, sure. But Nathan also found it hot, and...
Oh my gosh! This cannot be true, Nathan thought, I cannot fall in love at a time like this! Oh, but that face, and those eyes... and that behind too, this ghost has more than just cake, he has the whole bakery!
Let's not think about that right now, Nathan thought, that can wait. I need to calm the situation down first, after that I can fall in love.
"Calm down, bud!" Nathan said. "Let's think about happy things, like kittens!"
"Are you messing with me?!" The angry ghost yelled right into Nathan’s face. "You want me to think about fun things when I need to free my son's soul from this demon?!"
He yelled as he angrily pointed at Abaddon, who was still watching the scene infront of him without any visible emotion.
"Please, just calm down!" Nathan said. He was starting to panic, afraid that the enraged ghost might harm Abaddon in some way. "I get that you're angry, but you should not resort to violence!"
Nathan could see the anger in the ghost's eyes fade into a look of guilt and slight sadness.
He gently put Nathan back onto the ground again as he let go of his face.
"You are right," he softly muttered. "I am not supposed to act this way. It is not the way that I was taught to act."
"It's okay," Nathan gently said. He put his hand on the ghost's shoulder. It felt strong and firm.
"Woah..." Nathan could feel his face become a bright shade of red.
"Are you well? Do you feel ill?" The ghost suddenly asked when he noticed Nathan's face becoming red.
"No, no! I'm fine!" Nathan frantically said. "How about we talk together where Abaddon isn't near? Just so you do not get angry again."
"Very well." the ghost said. He stared at Abaddon in disgust, before following Nathan.
Nathan led the ghost to an empty room. He sat down on a big armchair.
"So, let's talk!" He smiled. "First of all, what is your name?"
"James," the ghost responded. "I am a priest."
Shit, Nathan thought, he's a priest. I'll never have a chance of getting a relationship with him.
"Well, that is very nice! My name is Nathan!" He said.
"A pleasant name." James responded.
"Yeah, it is! Although, people back in college called me Gay-Than."
"Gay? As in happy?" James asked in confusion.
"Right, you don't know new terms. Gay is used nowadays when two men love eachother." Nathan explained to the priest.
"But that is a sin." James said.
"Well, I believe that it isn't. But of course, people have different views on things." Nathan said in a friendly tone.
He thinks that being gay is a sin, Nathan thought, so I am a sinner according to him. How fun...
"So, the people called you gay. Do you love men?" The priest suddenly asked.
"No, no! Absolutely not! I love women and women only!" Nathan frantically lied. Although, James didn't seem like he fell for his lie.
He did not say anything about it however.
Getting into a relationship with this guy would be impossible. Nathan knew that.
It was unfortunate, very unfortunate. Most of the guys that Nathan had a relationship with in the past were accepting. But he knew that James would probably never accept Nathan for his sexuality.
Nathan had fallen for the priest instantly, but that love would probably lead to nothing.
It was truely terrible.
