Work Text:
City made of tall towers out on the horizon of a floating world one not balanced by time or space left floating through the in-between. A place where bubbles form though is not truly underwater yet holds its properties. Through the floating platforms and the city where no building truly meets a ground with no residents to call home but lights coming through the thousands of circle and square windows. Defying all properties of what should be. A song can be heard through the broken time and space of this place, one of tranquil oceans so easy to lose oneself in just listening. A song offering many tales untold lost in its waters from times of past along with times unknown to the universe itself as the place it can only reside is one created when space time is broken.
At some point if one were to listen closely enough through the ripples and waves of this ocean-like dimension one could hear small footsteps. For on the floating platforms is a small girl no older than ten wearing a purple dress with a yellow cape, white pants, brown boots, hair up in a pony tail and a purple top hat is making her way through to collect what caused the awakening of the realm in the first palace.
An hourglass with mystical yellow sand that can turn a dazzling bright blue inside framed by three brown wooden pillars all with a top hat in the middle of them between two circles with painted swirls. The child makes her way through this world’s puzzles to collect the lonely hourglass as it belongs to her. Though it's no surprise really that this young girl is the hourglasses owner for the both bear a shocking resemblance to each other. Why this could be is unknown but the tale that holds the answer behind the obvious resemblance is saved for a different time that's not yet come.
As the girl in the top hat obtains her time the world that resembles that of an ocean with a city in its horizon, floating puzzles, and mystical song falls back asleep for the time and space that was once broken is fixed.
