Chan is not feeling that well. He was busy at school, played outside too much, catching bugs and building sand castle, running around and forgetting the lunch pack. That's pretty much what his teacher reported while Hyunjin picked his son while the usual kid always ready and waiting in front the gates with big smiles but today she even have to pick him from school clinics bed.
"So sorry to burden you" said Hyunjin to the teacher as she reached her youngest to her arms
"That's all right, he usually not that active but guess not for today. Is something happening at home lately?" The teacher cause usually Chan not a hyperactive kid, he tend to be lenient and interesting more into academics than physical
Hyunjin scrunched her forehead, try to figure it out but she's not even sure.
"Well, we might be about to find it out at home later. So far, nothing's really happening though"
"I hope you don't worry much, nothing's wrong with being a little bit more active it's just a bit unusual. That's all"
"Thank you so much" then she goes back go her car while Chan sleeping soundly on her arms sweating all over his body due to fever.
Jisung back home sooner than usual to his youngest sickness. He couldn't help but worried. Changbin also kinda curious after listening to what his mom talked about the conversation witht the teacher. Yet now little Chan stay awake, after have a little video call with his cousins Yongbok, he decided to reluctant to sleep. Yongbok makes him to excited even when his head feels heavy.
"Channie you should sleep, your eyes already dropping a lots" Changbin's grunts
"Noooo!" Chan shaking his head then hiding deeper into Jisung's chest and Hyunjin throw her head aside, trying to not look at it directly. She has to control the beast inside her while seeing her own husband almost halfly naked.
Jisung standing still, cradling Chan into his arm, opening several buttons on his top pyjamas, trying skin to skin method to reduce Chan's fever, rocking the youngest a bit. The fever not really going low even after the paracetamol but it's also not that high, still they are on guard ready to hospital just incase the fever still on until midnight.
"Wanna share appa about anything at school today?" Jisung trying to persuade Chan to speak what actually going on but the kid just shaking his head declining
Jisung pouting, glaring at Hyunjin and Changbin with question look.
"How about we play a game?" Said Changbin enthusiastically and that's make Chan peeking a bit
"What game?" Little Chan asked as flatly as possible, he didn't want to look too desperate. Hyunjin and Jisung who's looking at each other trying to hide their smile.
"It's a word game. We'll playing hypothetical questions" said Changbin excitedly
The parent looks a bit confused and so the youngest.
"what kind of game is that?" asked Chan
"so we will make two teams. It's parents team and kids team! We asked the 'what if' situation and answered to each other. For the start like," Changbin narrowed both of his eyes, thinking of something, "Hypothetically speaking what if one day i woke up as a pig and bunny hybrid. What omma and appa would do?"
Jisung throwing his head to the right side trying to hide his laugh while Hyunjin moving her shoulders a little bit further, putting her fingers together like praying, she thinks really hard
"Honestly speaking this is tough question. Uhm.. what will omma do.. what will omma do?"
Changbin know this is just for fun but now he started to get invested in his own made game
"Is it really possible for a hybrid exist?" Jisung asking and Chan really curious
"This is hypothetical question appa, just answer"
"All right, maybe omma willing to try to be hybrid too, so our Changbin wouldn't be alone"
Even though it's just a joke, Changbin actually get touched by his mother answer then he hug her
"And appa will find a way to keep and protect you, cause there will lots of people wanting to take you and I will never ever let anyone take my son from me"
Seeing how his dad invested with alien and a bit more realist than his mother. It's hit different but still got a warm feeling
"Okay then now parents team to ask"
"Hypothetically speaking what if pretty mermaid Ariel really exist in world. Who do you think prettier omma or Ariel?"
"Hwang Hyunjin!" Her husband answer in a seconds while the kids still thinking
"My woman is the prettiest ever!" said Jisung proudly and it got Hyunjin. She turned her head down, trying to hide her smile
"After some thought. I prefer Rapunzel, so i think omma will be prettier than real Ariel"
And Chan really hate this question. His whole family know how much he always talk about Ariel and how pretty is she. More so often Yongbok get jealous of that. Even grandma Jeongin loose to Ariel. But if he have to compare Ariel with his own mother, the question that has been hold for so long. Not that it never come up, it just people has been respectfully to hold it due to his face desperation.
"Channie.. uhm.. Channie" the sweat all over his forehead
Jisung drawing a naughty sighting towards hiw wife and Hyunjin just sighing.
"Omma prettier than Ariel" said Chan really fast then he hug his father tightly, hiding his face into the older man chest's. The three of them tried really hard to hide their laugh.
"Okay now Chan you could ask" said Changbin who lead the games
The little Chan shaking his head while still sticking the tip of his head into his father's chest. "No, Binnie hyung can ask. Chan skip"
"Why Channie skip? No question for appa?" Jisung asking softly almost like a whisper
"Naurrr.. later" Chan answering softly with smile which make Hyunjin and Changbin melted in that moment
"Do you feel sleepy already baby?" Hyunjin asking as she getting closer to reach her youngest but Chan refusing, he trying so hard to cover Jisung chest with both of his hands until the two meet at the back. The woman was taken aback with Chan's behaviour. "Okay, we could do a bit more"
"Then, hypothetically speaking if there is another life. Will you guys still want to be together or wanna try someone else? Be honest!" Changbin glaring
Somehow this question getting into Jisung's nerves. He can't help but wonder if Hyunjin still want to be with him, cause Hyunjin is Hyunjin while he just..
"What is the conditions? Is it gonna the same conditions as your father now? Or what if in another life he is a woman?" Hyunjin stir it up
"Well, in that case-" but before Changbin could answer then Jisung
"In another life or further another life
If there even possibly any
I would like we still kiss not just as a tension
But because we still deeply IN LOVE with one another"
Then Jisung giving his wife a hard wink
"Well, wouldn't be much different for me" Hyunjin getting closer to her husband trying to kiss him but Chan's hand pushing her lips
"Naurr! Appa is mine omma!" Chan start to yelling which very unusual
Changbin at loss and Hyunjin get back to her position before. Three of them lookinh at each other getting some insight of the youngest behaviour
"So now my turn, hypothetically speaking will you do anything at school to get sick?" Jisung asking
"Why would i like to get sick?” Changbin confused
“I don’t know, it just hypothetically speaking. Doesn’t need to be serious! It just a make up situation” Jisung replied
While the son father start bickering, Hyunjin paying attention at her youngest Chan who watching the conversation earnestly and kinda scared somehow.
“If the position that being sick is i needed, could be. Although being sick is really not that worth.” Changbin answered
“If being sick makes me get the attention then i will” Changbin answered finally speaking what’s in his mind
And that moment he know he is —-
All eyes on him
“So, you intentionally tiring yourself until you get sick to get our attention Channie?” Hyunjin asking softly while her index finger rubbing the youngest cheek
But then Chan ignoring his mother, turning his head to his father chest back
“Channie miss appa so much, everyday only omma. Appa always working, only stay night. Channie loves omma too but Channie want appa” then he can’t hold his sobbing any longer
“You don’t have to be sick Channie. All you need just be honest. Appa also miss Channie a lot more than Channie miss appa” said Jisung gently, coaxing his son
“Channie could always call appa and appa will be there. You don’t need to be sick Channie. When you sick, you make everyone sad” he explained more
“Channie Sorry Appa” and the water comes
“Oh no baby! Appa the one should apologise” then Jisung trying to rocking his youngest son to calm him
Somehow Changbin feels lot of jealousy towards his brother cause he also miss his appa. But one thing he learn about love this time is that love also about honest and give in
