Work Text:
"Ah, finally", Bernice sighed. She didn't want to call him ever again, after all the things..
Especially the rather akward last meetings with his last more elegant (and quite handsome.) Incarnation, but she saw no other Option.
Thankfully he took the distress call seriously, sometimes he didn't even do that, he really was infuriating at times.
But to Bernice's surprise, it wasn't the short umbrella man or the elegant Gentleman or even the butch lesbian, she heard so much about it.
No, it was a man with quite the coat, Bernice didn't know if she should stare at it or look away, was it a genius outfit or one of an insane man?
"Well?", the man asked with a demanding undertone, "I got your distress call, what's the matter?"
For a moment, Bernice didn't quite know what to say, "Sorry.. didn't expect this you.."
"Ah?", the Doctor asked with a raised eyebrow, "I suppose you are from my future then?"
"Probably", Bernice said, "Although I am not sure."
"Ah, that's the trouble with time travel, isn't it?", the Doctor was almost ready to step back into his ship, but Bernice stopped him.
"Well since you are here, you might as well help me still, I am not going to send a bloody distress call again just to be greeted by one of the others, that I don't know of!"
"Ah", the Doctor simply said, "Perhaps I should, it's not like I will remember you!"
Bernice got annoyed by this remark, "I do say I am quite memorable!"
"No, I mean the time schizm will erase that memory"
"Oh", Bernice felt a bit stupid for making that comment now.
"Well, you might as well tell me where you need my help for?"
"Ah..", Bernice cleared her throat, "I think I accidentally stumbled on a Time lord's corpse and I don't know what to do with it.."
The Doctor's eyes widen, "And how do you presume I can help with that?"
Bernice simply shrugged, "You are a Time lord, surely once you encounter a time lord corpse yourself!"
"Thankfully I don't, I am quite good at not getting in such horrific situation"
"So are you or are you not gonna help me?"
"I suppose I might, after all, with my sheer intellect, it won't take long to find a solution!"
Bernice sighed, "You have a bit much self-esteem"
"Oh my dear, self-esteem like mine is a rarity, it's truly quite healthy, I recommend it."
Ah fuck, what did she get herself into with this one..
