Christine nodded, satisfied. Kyran grinned like a kid in a sweet shop, Jackie offering a polite smile that didn’t hide her anticipation.
“Excellent,” Christine said, rising. “I expect professionalism. I expect synergy. And above all, I expect results.”
The directors swept out, leaving the two leads standing in the echo of their own thoughts.
