Argo III Vacation

Summary:

It was a normal night…well as normal as it could be for 9 demigod teens spread out in a cabin, sitting on piles of pillows and blankets playing Mario Kart.
Leo randomly thinks, hey we should have a vacation, and this is the result.

Basically they just go on vacation.

Notes:

The characters will most likely be slightly(or very) OOC at times, since my writing skills are still improving! This is my second fic, and my first one is kinda bad(imma try to fix it and work on it at some point but the words and ideas were not flowing) but I hope its good!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

It was a normal night…well as normal as it could be for 9 demigod teens spread out in a cabin, sitting on piles of pillows and blankets playing Mario Kart.

The seven, and nico and will as a package deal, were all hanging out in Percy's cabin, playing Mario Kart even though it was prohibited by Chiron. Oh well, too bad.

“Aww noooooo! Come on!” Percy yelled, after seeing he was last on the leader board.

“Seaweed brain loses again! How many was that now Leo?” Annabeth asked.

“I think that was loss number 10.”

“Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy???” Percy continued on crying in the background.

“So,” Jason said, as similarly to a football game announcer as possible, “the current overall leader board is Piper in first place, me in second, Annabeth in third, Nico in fourth, Leo in fifth, Hazel in sixth, Will in seventh, Frank in eighth, and finally, Percy in last place.”

“HOW AM I THIS BAD?!” Percy cried/yelled, continuing with his crashout in the background, as the others started having their own conversations.

After about another twenty minutes of Percy complaining about his own constant defeat, he quieted down, and hung out with the others, who were in little groups, talking, napping, or in Annabeth and Jason's case, reading(despite their dyslexia).

“Okay, random question. Pineapple: allowed or not allowed on pizza?” Leo asked the whole room out of nowhere.

“NO! NEVER PUT PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA!” Nico, being the Italian he is, responded immediately.

“Yeah I'm with him on this. Pineapple shouldn't go on pizza.” Annabeth agreed.

“Even though I'm a Canadian, I tried it, and I can confirm that it isn't as good as people make it seem.” Frank added on.

“Well, I also tried it, and it was pretty good,” Percy countered, “so I say, add whatever the fuck you want on your pizza.”

“I agree with that sentiment. But I also tried it once, and it is not good.” Jason responded

“I think I’m gonna stay out of this one.” Will said(Nico gave him a questioning look after).

“Well, personally, I tried it and I liked it, so yes, it's very good.” Leo said, earning a glare from Nico, Annabeth, plus Hazel and Piper, who hadn't even said anything, but made their opinions clear. “but I do agree that it is not Italian at all like some people out there claim.” Leo added in, not noticing the glares from before, although they did get less intense and judgy.

After a few more minutes of conversations between the group, they were about ready to go to sleep. Slowly the group started falling asleep, the last ones to sleep being Annabeth and Piper, who were talking about the show Gilmore Girls, and fell asleep when they were talking about who would be the best person for Rory to date.

The next morning, the group woke up slowly, and the first one to wake up was Will. He was always up with the sun, except when he was in Nico's cabin, since Nico always forced him to go back to sleep. Annabeth woke up next and talked to Will as the others slowly started waking up and got added to conversations.

“Guys! Okay, crazy idea, but since this was probably one of the best nights ever, what if we did something kinda like this but better?” Leo suggested out of nowhere.

“Does it involve any explosions or fire hazards?”Annabeth asked, clearly cautious.

“Nope! Well… maybe. But it 's unlikely!” Leo said, not very convincingly.

“Do you want to tell us what you thought of Leo?” Hazel asked.

“Yeah! So, you know how my siblings and I built some RV things for missions so that we can be more safe?”

“Yes, we’re all aware Leo. Respectfully, get to the point.” Nico said, tired of Leo dragging out the idea.

“Well, maybe we could use one and go on a kind of vacation or something! I think everyone here has had way many more traumatic experiences than we should, and going on a nice vacation, free of godly quests and constantly being on the verge of death could be nice.”

“YES! I've had too many quests in my life, and having a nice vacation would be amazing! I already associate traveling with quests and narrowly avoiding death, and I need freedom from that.” Percy said, thrilled with the idea. Considering he had had more quests then the majority of the group(minus Annabeth and probably Jason), his want for an actual break made a lot of sense.

“Sounds fun! But we should probably run it by Chiron.” Frank said.

“I’m one hundred and one percent in! As long as it's possible, I'm going!” Piper added, excited for a vacation.

The others also agreed and loved the idea, and Annabeth said she would be willing to plan the trip and how it would go. They started walking to breakfast, and talked about potential routes and plans.

“So if this is possible, I think it would be cool to go to Percy’s house, since Sally loves seeing us, and then maybe we could spend a few days around the city. I was also thinking maybe the beach could be a cool idea. Or we could think about maybe going to some place in Canada too, or also possibly through the country or something. I would prefer to go to another continent but I don't think that would be possible with an RV.” Annabeth half whispered to herself, half told the group.

“I feel like we have to go to the beach, and I agree with visiting Sally, she probably misses actually seeing us.” Piper commented. “As long as we go to a place that we haven't all had a quest at before more than once.

“I hate to break it to you beauty queen, but that means basically the entirety of New York is banned, since four of us here have been through a few quests there. But I get what you mean.” Percy said.

They kept discussing while they sat down at the Poseidon table and got some food.

“We have to focus on the most important matter for this trip, guys. Snacks.” Leo declared to the group. “What are we taking?”

“I think we need to take blue gatorade, Coca-cola, and Pepsi as the basic drinks,”Percy said. “Other than water, I mean.” He added, after noticing a glare from Annabeth.

“We also need a sprite. It's my favorite, and it's not included in a world-wide debate.“ Jason said.

“Basic, but respectable.”Will acknowledged, after swallowing a bite of his pancakes. “But for actual snacks, I think that other than basic fruits and vegetables that we’ll also need for cooking, we need lays, chips, original flavor, the crunchy cheetos, specifically the cheddar ones, and also pretzel snacks and stuff. If we do go on vacation, I refuse to be hungry!”

“I agree with that sentiment!” Leo chimed in.

“I say we add some nutella and reesees cups to the snacks shelf! Also a bunch of snickers, Twix, and maybe Skittles. Ooh and M&Ms.” Hazel contributed to the snacks list.

“I'm already planning a medicine cabinet in my head. Knowing us, there's a high chance we’ll need it at some point. I know ambrosia and nectar work, but I'd prefer to have some basics.” Will said, being the healer he is.

After even more talking and discussing, they finally finished their breakfast, and went off to look for ChIron to pitch the idea. His was response was as so:

“I love the idea, and encourage you to have some peaceful and fun experiences, but I ask of you two things: firstly, stay safe and don't do anything crazy, and also help any unknowing demigods you may find for them to make it to camp. I doubt you'll need to get any other demigods, but if you do find them, get them back here safe. The more people helping them find their way to safety the better.”

The group agreed to the set terms and conditions, and started making more actual plans. They decided the route would be from camp to Sally’s house directly, and then some time around the city, and possibly going  to Montauk. They also started talking about possible modifications that could be made for the RV to actually fit all of them, and comfortably for a relatively long period of time.

“So, for the RV, I wanted to make sure that it could fit us all comfortably and also be up to our needs and wants, so here is what I was thinking: Since I already have one that we made for up to 5 demigods, ill use and modify that one so it'll be easier to get enough space for us. I plan to leave one room for the girls, and 2 to split us boys up. I’m assuming that darkness and sunshine want to share together, and I already have one room with a double bed in the RV that I can leave for them. Then all I have to do is add bunks to a storage room we had already built, and us other boys can share that room. Don't worry though, I'll try to make it slightly bigger. The rest is pretty much okay to leave as is, since we already have two bathrooms, and all I want to add is a better water heating system, and a better surround sound system. Any suggestions?”

“Can I make probably the dumbest suggestion ever?” Percy asked.

“Sure. Go for it, seaweed brain.”

“Is it possible to add a pool?”

“Percy, you're basically asking for a barbie RV, you realize that right?”

“Well…yeah. Look, I don't know! I wanna be able to swim!”

“Sorry Percy, but I don't think a pool would be possible.” Leo said, “As much as it would've been awesome to get a pool whenever, I would rather not try to add one and mess up the whole RV in the process. I can try after though!”

“Thanks anyways man.” Percy responded, disappointed.

“Any other suggestions?”

“How about a small skylight?” Will asked.

“I think I could make one, I could even use those car mechanisms so we can cover the window for the dead boy whenever he's feeling against sunlight.”

“I think that's everything then.”Annabeth declared.

“Let the Argo III vacation planning commence! And no, I will not consider changing the name an option. It's non-negotiable. My idea, my name."

“Fair enough.” Jason laughed.
