“This is practically harassment.”
“It’s a picture. And I’m fully dressed on it.”
“Tezuka, it’s a picture of your behind.”
“There is a body attached to it.”
“Just because it’s a full body picture, doesn’t mean it’s not uncomplimentary.”
Tezuka sighed. Yes, the picture wasn’t what he had expected from a sports magazine. But he also wasn’t about to waste his time going on and on about it.
“I’m not naked on it. And I’m not going to make a fuss over it. The end.”
“But Mitsu-”
“No, Keigo. It’s enough. I concede that it’s not what someone in Japan might have chosen and that it has definitely nothing to do with tennis. But I am also not going to do something about it.”
Atobe pouted.
“But that behind is mine.”
“Officially we’re not even together. Though I appreciate the sentiment, they couldn’t have known. Besides, that part would hopefully be more for the tabloids you still seem to enjoy, than for the spread in a sports magazine.”
Atobe knew he was beaten, for now at least, and turned his tactic towards something else.
“So we can finally make this official then?”
Tezuka, as expected, didn’t miss a beat.
“There are a million reasons why we didn’t. It’s only a surprise that no one figured it out so far.”
“We’re good at what we do. But I still want this official and I don’t care anymore what my father’s lawyers have to say about it. Besides, we do have our names at the top by now, so the repercussions should have quite diminished as well.”
“Keigo-.”
“Marry me, Kunimitsu. You are the other half of my soul. And we’ve been together since Middle School. Let me become your husband.”
Tezuka inwardly smiled. Leave it to Atobe Keigo to sound insecure in a moment like this. It was very sweet and so way out of what he had imagined a proposal to be from the normally flamboyant male. And if he was completely honest, he was the more happy for it.
“I love you too, Keigo. And I will marry you - in private.”
The frenzied kiss he was assaulted with held more than a million words ever could.
When Tezuka opened the next issue of the previously discussed sports magazine, he immediately found a very flattering picture of himself and Atobe. Together with an apology.
In the future he should really just let his husband do what he would anyway.
