Chapter Text
"Kaito-kun..." Furuya sweatdropped, wondering if he had to even continue his words when it was clear what he wanted to question about. Still, he went on, "Mind explaining the situation?"
"Rei-san! Welco― fuheee― ah!"
The cheerful and warm voice that had impossibly brightened up by the realization that his lover was home was quickly pushed down again by the 'creatures' all around him, causing him to let out such a pitiful sound before obediently following their demands.
Furuya, whose heart thumped a beat faster from Kaito's obvious giddiness at knowing he was home, had to hold in his laughter right after his betraying teenager-like feelings.
Why, you would ask?
Because those 'creatures' were the other residents of their home. Their pets, to be exact.
A considerate amount of doves that Kaito dubbed as his assistants and the small dog that had managed to convince Furuya to take him in from stubbornness alone.
The white fur and white feathers were all flocking around Kaito right now, all resting on top of him, forcing him to lay down as their combined force and simple cuteness won Kaito over. The young man was already their hostage at this rate.
Haro was dedicated to licking Kaito's face off while his owner trembled from laughter that was suppressed for too long. Apparently the older one didn't even have the intention to help free Kaito right now. A true shame of all shame. The trembling went harder when the doves started cooing on top of Kaito―Haro readily barked in response as if they were performing an orchestra right there, happily and uncaringly.
Uncaring of the famous phantom thief buried under white so hazardly it was a complete opposite from his elegant appearance below the moonlight.
Kaito pouted, glaring at the direction of his lover as much as he could with the white obstacles currently in his vision. "Reeeei-saaaan?"
"Fuh...haha..." Slight chuckles began to escape the notorious triple-face, his knuckles tightly pressed against his lips, letting out a few more helpless chuckles that just seemed to make Kaito pout more. "I'm sorry... wait a sec, Kaito-kun...haha..."
"Eh, do you even intend to help me?" Kaito snarked with a flat voice. "For real?"
"Pfft―" A wheeze was heard, even if almost too quietly.
A nerve popped on his forehead, Kaito grumbled loudly―the animals around and on top of him just nuzzled him harder in response, absolutely unbothered and with no sign of getting off anytime soon. Kaito couldn't help the despair-filled future that his mind drew―of him being found dead under a bunch of satisfied fluffs. An exaggeration that his dramatic genius mind could only internally scream at.
In his spiral into the dramatic route, Kaito didn't realize Furuya who had finally gathered his composure back together only to shake his head fondly at Kaito who seemed to be muttering nonsense.
Cute. Furuya thought, warmth spreading all over inside him, hands reaching to pull his beloved back to him.
Without saying, Kaito managed to escape soon enough even if it earned him a few sulking noises from their adorable pets. They would have to give them snacks later.
But for now, Furuya would just like to monopolize his lover for a bit. After a long day of work. In his arms, finally.
Kaito was not buried in white anymore.
But chocolate skin and icy blue eyes now trapped him into their charm. Asking for more warmth and more of his voice that called their owner so sweetly.
"Rei-san..."
This time, Kaito had no objection to staying there forever if Furuya wanted him to.
