Home. A word Ethan once believed was a myth that people foolishly clung to. His mother’s departure forever changed the world for him. Every place that followed was a ‘residence’, no more. Dorms, apartments, the immaculate condo he curated like a museum – all were stages built for an act he was forced to play. He avoided comfort, kept the rooms pristine... his heart untouched.
But today, as he heard Kaycee stirring nearby, her soft steps heading his way, her arms wrapped around his waist, he came undone. Warmth spread in places he’d long forgotten. She was here, and he was – home.
