Work Text:

You'll miss me? Then move in with me.

Let's do it after graduation.

We'll take it slow, a two bedroom apartment near the agency, separate bathrooms too. Spacious, living room for you, large kitchen for me.

We won't eat together just because, or make small talk to fill the silence, but whenever you want, we'll set up Mario kart on the TV and play 'til our fingers cramp up. You'll ask me to make katsudon, and I'll make it for you everyday, even if I have a scowl on my face when I do it.

I won't Invade your privacy and you won't mine, but whenever you have those nightmares that keep you up between 1 and 2, I'll turn my light on, so you'll know that I'm awake if you wanna talk.

Our schedules don't have to line up at the agency, but you'll let me know when you're working, and if you want me to heat your dinner or leave it covered in the fridge. You'll tell me about your day, only if you want to of course.

When you're injured from patrol or a battle, tell me, and I can help where it hurts if you need it. Tell me about the emotional scarring too, and how much it hurt to reach out to save only to be far too late. Cry on my shoulder if you need to, let it all out, until your eyes become tired and you become drowsy.

Let me keep you there until I know that you're in deep rest. Then when you wake up in your bed the next day, don't ask who put you there. Not necessary.

Let me tell you about my therapy and how that's going, and how the guilt over the years of how I treated you tends to come back at my darkest moments, at times when I'm beaten by a villain, or I'm not the nicest with a civilian. But also let me tell you about how it subsides whenever you ask me to do things for you, like make you dinner, leave my light on, wipe your tears in your sleep. Let me tell you about the way I feel just to be near you, and how no guilt reaches me when I see you smile, cheer, or laugh.

Give me the chance to get drunk with you, under your safety, and you under mine. We won't drink too heavy, but just enough to let go of reservation, and finally be free of whatever the fuck this invisible line is that we are too afraid of crossing.

Let's drink till we feel weightless, nothing but shits and giggles sprawled out on the floor. Let's get close, let's cuddle, let's feel safe…let me get a look at your face, a real good look, let me count each freckle in silence, and find a new shade of green in your eyes…

Let me kiss you…gently. It won't be unexpected, something fated to happen between us. Let's acknowledge it the morning after. Let us admit that we both liked it. And let us decide where it leads us.

Let's stop sleeping in separate bedrooms, and stop listening for footsteps to see who's in the kitchen. Let's stop pretending to avoid each other to give one another space, and let's gladly invade privacy. Let's start acknowledging the kindness of each other for what it is; something that has transcended friendship quite a long time ago.

You'll miss me? Then give me the opportunity to show you how much better of a person you have made me. Let me show you what your forgiveness was worth and how it set me on the path that I am on now, the one that leads back to you. Let me love you the way I have wanted to since the end of first year, and please, give me the chance to be loved back.

We can start by looking at some apartments.
