it was a calm and relaxing evening in the kiramman mansion. vi was in the living room with caitlyn. caitlyn was catching up on some of her reading, while vi on the other hand was playing with some toys. she was currently playing with some building blocks, seemingly trying to make a house with them. vi never played loudly at all. she was usually nonverbal or just quiet when regressed.
vi continued to play with her toys, stacking up a bunch of building blocks. caitlyn put down her book for just a mere second to check the time on her watch. it was already going on 8 o’clock. this was about the time caitlyn would start getting vi ready for bed. caitlyn looked over at vi, who was still playing with her toys, not even noticing that caitlyn was looking at her.
“vi, honey. i think we need to start putting up your toys now. its getting late, my love.” caitlyn said. however, vi just shook her head in response.
“no? but darling, we have to get you ready for bed. aren’t you getting sleepy, hm?” caitlyn asked, but vi just shook her head in disapproval again.
caitlyn let out a small sigh, going over to where vi was sitting on the floor and crouching in front of her.
“i know you’re saying you’re not sleepy, but if we don’t put our toys up now and get ready for bed, you’re gonna be super grouchy in the morning. and im sure neither of us want that, huh?” caitlyn tried, softly nudging vi with her shoulder. vi just shrugged her arms.
“would it help if mama helped you clean up?” caitlyn asked, vi thought for a second, before slowly nodding. caitlyn let out a sigh of relief that she didn’t even realize she was holding.
the pair then began to clean up all of the toys that were scattered on the floor. caitlyn cleaned up most of the stuff, however. but she didn’t mind, just happy that vi didn’t tantrum about having to clean up. not like vi would, anyways. caitlyn had taught her better. once they were done, caitlyn placed a kiss on vi’s forehead. vi let out a giggle in response.
“sweet girl.” caitlyn murmured, before helping vi get up from off the floor. the pair then walked to their shared bedroom together.
when they entered the bedroom, caitlyn helped vi get settled on the bed as she went to pick out some pajamas for herself and for vi. once she had found some, she first helped vi get into hers, then she got into her own.
vi settled more into the bed now, letting out a small yawn as she felt her mind become fuzzier. before caitlyn sat down, she remembered to get a pacifier for vi, knowing that she was prone to stick her thumb in her mouth or something if she didn’t have it. she grabs the pacifier from a random desk, popping it into vi’s mouth, which vi sleepily suckled on. caitlyn then got into bed with her girl, looking down at her with an adoring look on her face. vi rubbed her eyes, clearly trying to fight off sleep.
“how about mama reads you a bedtime story before bed, hm?” caitlyn asked sweetly, making vi slowly nod.
caitlyn opened a drawer that was in reach from the bed and grabbed a book from out of it. it was a book that they had never read together before. caitlyn opened up her arms for vi, which she immediately crashed into. caitlyn let out a small chuckle before showing the book cover to vi. it looked to be a very short book, probably less than 10 pages.
caitlyn turned to the first page, beginning to read it. then, to the second. then the third. then the fourth. then the fifth. and soon enough, the book was finished and caitlyn was gently placing it back in the nearby drawer.
vi rubs her eyes once more, letting out another yawn. caitlyn then laid down with vi, bringing her close to her chest. caitlyn then pressed a warm kiss to vi’s forehead.
“i love you, sweetheart.” caitlyn whispers, as she continues to hold vi in her arms. they fall asleep together, just like that.
