Chapter Text
Slowly opening his eyes, Finn grumbled, mind all fogged up. He had no memory where he had been. Last thing Finn could remember was being alone in his and Damian’s home, JD had visited earlier in that day wanting to just talk. Reaching around aimlessly searching with his hands trying to find his phone from somewhere without a success. Cursing under his breath, Finn realized he didn’t have his phone with him or anything else than what he was wearing.
Trying to grab any support from the wall, Finn struggled push himself up from the thin mattress he had been sleeping on. Room had nothing else than one thin mattress, not even blanket or a pillow. “Nice enough of you to get us a room…” Finn said to Demon. He was secretly pleased of the fact he didn’t woke up in middle of the some random alley or even in dumpster.
Finn made his way out of whatever place Demon had brought them in trying to clear his mind and focus making back to Damian. Outside didn’t look that pleasing either. Feeling lucky he had woken up in that room, Finn took in the surroundings. Alleyway was littered and there was graffiti’s in every wall possible. As Finn was making his way towards main road he tried to avoid stepping on people who were passed out or any needles or anything sharp that were lying around.
Taking step after step Finn tried to spot anything that told him what city he was currently in. It was too early to people be out on the streets, sun wasn’t even up yet. First sunbeams were just starting to shine in the horizon. Walking through different alleyways feeling of not making any progress getting out Finn felt helpless but slowly he started to hear sound of cars and decided to make his way towards it. Louder it got, closer he thought he would be to main street.
After long minutes of just walking he finally made it to main street. Finn decided to stop next person who walked towards him and ask for help.
“Excuse me?” Finn called young woman who was wearing business outfit. She looked at Finn in disgust and hurried past him without saying a word. Raising eyebrow Finn shrugged shoulders, continuing to search for next person. It didn’t take long as he saw older man walking his way. “I’m sorry but can I bother you?” Finn tried to be more polite but the man told him to stay away from him, also hurrying past him.
Frowning Finn stood still wondering why people were rude to him. He had tried to be polite but got treated like a scum. Making his way to window of still closed shop, wanting to see how he looked. It couldn’t be that bad but what he saw staring back at him made him rethink, it made him understood everything. He looked filthy, hair was a mess and clothes weren’t ripped but were filthy. “No wonder.” Finn mumbled to himself. Continuing making his way through the streets he wondered how many days he had been out of it thanks to Demon. He felt incredibly hungry, thirsty and filthy. Shower or even a bath would be lovely. Bath with Damian would be the best with his arms around him securely. Quickly shaking his head, he needed to focus on task at hand and not daydreaming.
Not long after Finn found magazine stand. He could at least check the date from the news paper if seller didn’t want to talk. He approached the stand seller who was setting magazines on proper places. “Excuse me, where am I?”
“Are you stoned or just in drugs? This is Atlanta.” Seller told rudely.
Forcing a smile Finn asked. “That’s nice, thank you. What day it is?” What stand seller told him was shocking. He was missing whole three days which was longest continuously time he had ever been possessed. Saying quick thank you he walked off not wanting to stay a moment longer.
Finding small park, he sat on a bench. How it was possible that three days had gone past and more importantly how he had made it to Atlanta from his home in New York. Feeling overwhelmed, tears stung his eyes. Missing Damian only made things worse and he couldn’t even contact him to calm his nerves. Burying face in his hands he tried not to let emotions take over. He needed to figure this out but what could he do? He had no money, no phone and he knew no one in the city.
