Work Text:

Eunchae presses her face up against the cold glass, mumbling under her breath about how cold it is.

The driver door swings open and Woonhak sits down in front of the wheel.

He looks over to his right, seeing Eunchae's smeared face smushed up against the glass, her hot breath fogging up part of the window.

Woonhak lets out a sigh before starting his car and driving off.

'The party was fun... but literally how did I get stuck bringing her home?' Woonhak asks himself. 'Granted- she looked a mess, and I was not going to let her walk home this late at night, by herself, AND drunk.'

Woonhak wasn't lying when he said she looked a mess. Not only did she look a mess, she acted one as well. Eunchae had over done it on the shots downed at the party.

Now here she is, drooling over Woonhaks car, mumbling about who knows what.

Woonhak taps the wheel while humming to the music playing on the aux, the only thing filling in this awkward silence.

"Mm...mmh- no..." Woonhak looks over to see Eunchae mumbling to herself again.

'Might as well entertain myself.' He thought. "No... what?"

"It's- It's bullshit." Eunchae says slurred.

"What's bullshit?"

There was a pause of silence.

"...Everything. It's all- bullshit."

Woonhak sucked his teeth. 'O...kay? Whatever that means.'

After about 20 minutes of driving and the utter random mumblings of Eunchae, they arrive back at Eunchaes house.

He gets out of the car and heads over to the other side to help Eunchae get out.

Eunchae seems out like a light at this point.

Woonhak props her arm around his neck and drags her up, putting one of his arms around her neck and the other behind her waist.

Walking across the wet field, Woonhak still questions why he even agreed to take her home in the first place. It's not like he didn't want to, but it just wasn't something he expected was actually going to happen.

"N- no! I don't- -hiccup- don't want to!" Eunchae arises from her short nap to shout.

"Don't want to what?" Woonhak replies in confusion.

Eunchae looks up at Woonhak. "I don't- I- I just... party!" She shouts.

"Shh! We aren't partying, you're way too drunk."

"I'm not- ugh... I'm not drunk DAD! I'm just- -hiccup- tipsy... learn the difference." She remarks snarkily.

Woonhak can't help but chuckle at the pure stupidity of her words and how flushed her face is.

Woonhak opens the front door to her house and steps inside to see none other than Eunchaes mom sitting in the kitchen.

"Oh- hello Mrs. Hong." Woonhak bows deeply, dragging Eunchae along with him.

"Ahh! Slow down!" Eunchae hits Woonhak on the back of the head.

Eunchaes mom giggles. "Hello Woonhak, how are you doing tonight?"

"I'm fine- thank you... your daughter though?" Woonhak looks over at Eunchaes disheveled face. "Not so much..."

Her mom sighs. "She drank too much again?"

"Yep, I think way more than usual." Woonhak and Eunchaes mom chuckled together.

"Alright well, Imma go get her to bed." Woonhak said.

"Alright, see you later." Eunchaes mom waved them goodbye before walking into the living room.

Woonhak walked into Eunchaes annoyingly bright room, full of trinkets and plushies and posters... and pink.

Woonhak picks up Eunchae into his arms and places her on the bed.

He takes her shoes off and drapes the blankets over her. He sighs before stepping back slightly.

"This was way too much work." He sighs again, heavier this time.

Eunchae drops her head to her side while looking up at Woonhak, her pupils dilated and eyes a bit watery. "Woon...hak?"

Woonhak looks back down at Eunchae, who meets his gaze. He's waiting for her to say something else but she doesn't. Her mouth is open but only air spills out.

Woonhak starts to head toward to the door before Eunchae speaks again.

"I hate this..." She proclaims.

Woonhak pauses and turns around. "Hate what?"

"Us..." She says softly. "I hate us."

Woonhaks heart drops below his feet. "What does..." He hesitates, scared of what she might answer with. "What does that mean Eunchae?"

Eunchae doesn't respond initially, leaving Woonhak shaking.

'Does she hate me? What did I do? Does she hate being friends or-'

"Why are we still friends... I hate acting like I don't want- like I don't want more..." She answers softly.

Woonhak freezes. 'Okay- what does that mean?'

Eunchae continues on. "Like- Like I don't love you. Like I don't feel my breath disappear whenever I see you."

Woonhak stares at Eunchae is disbelief. She's seriously admitting her feelings to him unknowingly while drunk.

"Eunchae I-"

"And it's like- oh yeah, everything's perfectly fine between us because we're just friends like I don't go home and scream into my pillow every night thinking about how we could be more."

"Eunchae-"

"Or how I wake up thinking -hiccup- about you..."

"Eunchae- stop, you're drunk." Woonhak finally cuts in.

Eunchae sits up and scowls at him. "I may be drunk, but I'm not a liar." She points at him before falling back down.

Woonhak stands at the door in bewilderment, unable to process what he's hearing.

"Are you- Eunchae..." Woonhak steps away from the door and closer back to Eunchae, his eyes growing softer.

"I'm not... a liar." Eunchae declares again, not a bone in her body joking.

Woonhak sits on the bed next to Eunchae, tilting his head slightly while connecting eyes with Eunchae.

"Not... a liar." She says, before throwing herself back onto her bed.

Woonhak blinks rapidly, confused on how to react. His heart is racing, and his face is flushed red.

He looks down to see Eunchae, hilariously already fast asleep.

He places his hands on his knees and props himself to head for the door.

As he goes to close the door behind him, he looks back at Eunchae one last time, her words racing through his mind like F1 cars.

Woonhak laughs softly to himself before turning the light off and shutting the door behind him and heading home, deciding to deal with her drunken confession of love tomorrow.
