Work Text:

Sua and Mizi were, undoubtedly, polar opposites. Mizi was the people’s princess, Sua was quiet and kept to the sidelines. Yet somehow, they were always close. You would never see the two separated, except for when Mizi was busy talking to everyone she could.

It was their first year of highschool at Anakt highschool. It was only the first day of school but somehow Mizi had already befriended half the school population ( of course she had ). Sua, like always, only associated herself with a select few: Mizi, of course, and Ivan, her brother.

“Mizi….,” Sua mumbled. She was standing beside Mizi, who was reapplying lip gloss at her locker. Mizi’s locker was filled with all shades of pink and the metal walls were filled to the brim with polaroids of Sua and her.

Mizi turned around to face Sua. It was obvious Sua was the smarter one, more perceptive. She could always read Mizi’s next thought even when Mizi couldn’t gather herself.. Mizi, on the other hand, was ( extremely ) dumb. She physically could not read the room, and said the worst things at the worst possible times. Sua sometimes wondered how she was so popular.

“Yeah?” Mizi cheerfully replied, blissfully unaware of the tension surrounding her.

There was a moment of silence, you could practically hear a pindrop. It wasn’t awkward though, it felt oddly soothing - to Sua at least.

“Will we always be friends…no matter what happens?” she timidly replied, fearing every possible response Mizi could come up with.

Deep down in her heart Sua knew the answer, Mizi would obviously say yes. The two were practically inseparable, why would Mizi say no? However, she was still fearful. She feared the chance of Mizi playing with her heart.

“Of course we will! Why wouldn’t we?” Mizi said, after what felt like ages. Although it was a mere 10 seconds, it felt like eternity.

Sua knew it. She knew that was the obvious answer, but she casually played it off like it was nothing.

“Yeah..just checking,” Sua replied nervously. “Don’t worry about it.”

Her response was painfully suspicious. But what did she have to worry about? Mizi was too unaware to see her true intentions.

Sua was straight, at least she thought she was. Being with Mizi made her feel different, however. She acted in ways she never acted before, being with Mizi made her heart beat rapidly. It was at this moment she knew, she wasn’t straight. Not in the slightest bit.

What she knew for sure though was Mizi was most definitely not into her, not in the way she was. What was the point of confessing her love if she already knew her answer? She couldn’t control her feelings, her heart was only for Mizi. She needed someone to talk to, desperately, so she consulted the least straight person she knew- Ivan.

Ivan was her brother, the pretty, handsome, popular, football captain of Anakt highschool. He had a mob of desperate girls surrounding him every second of the day. Despite having half the female population wanting his love, Ivan knew his love was only set for one person. Till.

Till was, like Mizi, not gay in the slightest way possibly. Or at least that’s what Ivan thought. Till was the polar opposite of Ivan. He was emo and barely associated himself with anyone. In a way, Sua and Till were similar. No one thought of that though, ever.

As much as Sua hated talking to her brother, she knew she had to. Who else would she consult? She only had Ivan and Mizi, and you don’t exactly tell the love of your life that you are deeply in love with them.
