It was your first kiss with him, Skips Shadley.
After telling him about never having kissed anyone before, Skips asked if he could have the honor of being your first kiss. Even though he genuinely wanted to be the one, he felt like his chances were rather low. He tried acting as if he was just joking around, although you could easily notice that small linger of hope behind his words.
"Yeah, sure! I mean, if that's okay with you..."
Even though you made it look like it wasn't a big deal, his ears perked up. His lips closed. His eyes widened as he stared at you, trying to figure out if you were being serious or if he was dreaming.
"What?" He asked, sounding disoriented, still feeling incredulous. It felt like the world around him was spinning.
"You can kiss me, I don't mind... It's cool if you don't want to, though. I just thought it'd be better to do it with someone I trust..."
His silence was killing you. Did you mess up? Maybe you talked too much... Maybe you misunderstood the whole situation, and it turns out he's not into you.
"You know what? Never mind. Forget everything I said, this is kind of embarrassing."
"N-No!" Looking scared, Skips stood up from his place. "I mean... I'm cool with being your first kiss if that's what you want. I just want you to... Be happy. And safe." Even though he did his best to seem nonchalant, his whole body was betraying him. There was a faint blush spreading across his face, and he couldn't look at you anymore.
Now you were anxious, and your lips felt dry. Your heart was beating faster than usual (nothing impossible to handle, though. You knew the situation was under control). Your palms were sweating, and that was probably the most annoying part about everything... And you could also feel butterflies flying gently inside your stomach. They felt nice, nothing painful in the slightest. And even though this was anxiety-inducing, you felt safe under his care. Your heart knew you could blindly trust him, since he'd always be patient with you.
Meanwhile, Skips was trying his best to act as confident and normal as possible. However, he was an anxious mess, and you knew that... He did have more experience than you, but the last time he kissed someone was years ago... Could he even manage to do it again? And what if he made a mistake? What if he disappointed you? All he wanted was to make this magical for you. As a matter of fact, he was actually much more anxious than you, thanks to the pressure he was putting on himself to make this unforgettable.
If it wasn't for his black lipstick, you'd have noticed that his lips were also dry. But instead, you couldn't help but wonder what they tasted like... Coincidentally, you both hoped the other wouldn't hear their heartbeats. You both prayed the other wouldn't notice how unprepared they were for this. And no matter how much time any of you tried to spend preparing mentally, that'd never be enough for the real deal. The real deal was now, right in front of you.
Before taking a final deep breath to try calming down, Skips licked his bottom lip. Then, he positioned himself in front of you. He placed his hand on your left cheek, and noticing he was still a bit too far away from you, he took one step closer. Now you could feel his breath against your skin. You could also feel his hands were trembling and how cold they felt compared to yours.
His eyes were soft and reflected you perfectly. Just by his tenderness alone, you could sense how dear you were to him... Getting embarrassed by the sudden eye contact and by how much he was exposing his emotions, he focused his gaze on your lips. Even though Skips had some sudden boosts of confidence, he was still quite shy.
He carefully tilted your face a little, giving him some space for your noses to not collide. Both your hearts started beating even louder somehow, the rhythm mixing together. Closing his eyes, he slowly pulled his lips in front of yours, brushing his lipstick against your skin. It felt like he was teasing, though he was just trying to build up the courage to actually kiss you.
Struggling with brain fog, it was hard to think about how he should go on. Should he kiss you slowly? Should he just give in to his desires? What about using his tongue... Would you be fine with that, or would that weird you out? Skips wanted to bite your bottom lip, too. Was that even a good idea for a first kiss? He was paralyzed by his thoughts, and his legs were starting to tremble. As the butterflies in his stomach grew aggressive, Skips grew impatient with himself, and now he could only think about actually going for it.
He kissed you quickly. And you didn't even have time to process what was happening because he was already parting ways, thanks to losing his balance. His lips briefly touched yours, but it was enough to feel a small spark.
"S-Sorry." He whispered, now cupping both of your cheeks. He was making sure to not separate from you this time. "Tell me if you want me to stop, 'k?"
He held you like you were frail. Something precious. He was afraid of losing you, accidentally breaking you, and he feared making the wrong move and destroying everything between the two of you... Although the fear wasn't stopping him this time.
He kissed you like he was hungry. However, still holding back. He slid his tongue on your lips, slowly opening up space to enter, and then brushing it slightly against your teeth as he tried to find yours. He shyly invited you to play with his tongue, and you felt the contrasting coldness of his piercing and how warm his mouth was. He tasted like his favorite energy drink, and his lips were soft and sweet.
It was scary. It was a little ticklish. And there was also another feeling you couldn't exactly explain... You felt pulled to him more and more. Like you were about to melt under his touch. Like it was fine to just succumb to him. It was addictive.
He separated his lips from you, attempting to catch his breath as he rested his forehead on yours. Panting and flustered, he gazed into your eyes. They were teary, and his lipstick was a mess.
Skips Shadley felt so lucky and honored to be your first kiss. He wondered how the hell he was able to pull that...
"... I love you- Fuck! I-I mean..." And then suddenly, all the colors in his face disappeared... That short sentence was the wrong move he feared making. Biting his tongue, he averted his gaze from yours. You cupped his face the same way he did to you, forcing him to not pull away.
"Forget I said that." Skips closed his eyes, afraid of facing you. "I know this is too much for you and I'm going too fast... I'm being too much again."
"You're not too much, you're never too much... I love you." Trying to comfort him, you smiled tenderly while caressing his cheek with your thumb. "What are you apologizing for?"
Skips opened his eyes. He looked at you with confusion, almost disbelief. Analyzing your face for a brief second, it was more than clear that your soft smile would never dare to hurt him. You were different from the one in his past... With that in mind, his face lit up, the same way the sun shines after a long storm. He smiled under your touch.
"I love you." He pulled one of your hands close to his mouth, kissing it gently. Later, resting his cheek on it. "... Did you like kissing me? We can try again if you want..." Skips said hoarsely, almost sounding intoxicated. It was hard to focus when your lips were right there, so close to his.
