Sprout yawned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up on his bed, mindlessly reaching around for his scarf that was on his bed somewhere. When all of a sudden Cosmo burst in, making him jump.
”Sprout! Goob wants chocolate chip cookies for his and Scraps little party!” He said quickly with a smile, tugging on Sprout as he got out of bed.
”Okay, okay… jeez, knock next time—almost gave me a heart attack!” He exclaimed with a grin, flopping on his bed clutching at his heart dramatically.
Cosmo rolled his eyes then grabbed his arm, dragging him down to the kitchen. Cosmo was pretty strong except Sprout, who got flung by that mixer. Gosh, Cosmo will forever remind him even on his death bed.
When they made it to the kitchen, they got straight to making the cookies, Sprout adding the ingredients and Cosmo mixing it. When they put it in the oven, they didn’t how many minutes to put it in for so they’ll just keep checking on it until it looks good.
After what, let’s say 15 minutes it started to look good, Cosmo took it out with oven mitts, placing it on the counter to cool.
”Wanna see what Goob and Scraps are doing while we wait?” Sprout asked, crossing his arms as he smiled at his best friend.
”Mmmyeah! I wanna make Shelly a bracelet!” He said, chatting with the strawberry as they walked out.
Dandy was still sleeping, but soon got up after Astro started to wake him up.
”Dandy… everyone’s awake and Delilah wanted to see you.” Astro said, poking his forehead with his little stars, Dandy rubbed his eyes then nodded.
”Mhm.. did she look upset or..?” He tilted his head, which Astro shrugged.
”She looked normal, why? Did you get into trouble again?” He asked with a light knowing smile, he knew Dandy would get into trouble sometimes, but not often.
”Nooo….” He paused.
”Maybe.”
“Oh, Dandy—she’s gonna put you in the flower pot and just leave you there forever!” Astro said with a chuckle.
”Psh, no—you’ll get me out!”
”You’re right, but she’ll tie me next to you!”
”Hah! Pebble will save us!”
”How? He’s a rock!”
”He’ll nibble your way out! And then he’ll dig me out!”
”Hm, smart idea but what if Delilah just puts him in time out?”
”Then—“
”Okay Dandy!” Astro giggled as Dandy was about to continue on with his nonsense. “I’m sure Delilah is impatient by now.”
”Okay, well see ya!”
”I’ll see you later then, Dandy.”
Dandy grinned as they both parted their ways down the hallways. Astro heading to the Toons lounge room while Dandy went to Delilah’s office.
Dandy stopped halfway when he caught smell of something sweet, then drifted off to follow the scent with a hungry smile.
He peeked in the kitchen, when the area was clear he walked in, looking around and spotting the tray of cookies on the counter.
”Ah! These smell so good…and look so good! Maybe Cosmo and Sprout wouldn’t notice one missing…” He said to himself, looking at the door then grabbed one. He took a bite and was immediately in bliss.
”Mmm! This is so good!” He exclaimed as the chocolate melted in his mouth, he ate it all then took another cookie. Then another. And another. When he noticed what he was doing he let out a small gasp.
”Oh no! I ate half of the cookies! Uhmmm…” he glanced at the door then the cookies, letting the silence hang for a moment.
”No. I can’t eat any more, I’m supposed to be a good and thoughtful friend!” He said, then headed out. Before grabbing another cookie. For Delilah. Of course. Maybe.
Sprout walked in with Cosmo beside him as they were still chatting to each other.
Cosmo looked down at the cookies and raised an eyebrow, “Uh, was there this much cookies when we left?”
”Um, I think so.”
”No, there were plenty more.”
”Oh yeah, there was cause look! Crumbs! Someone’s been eating the cookies!”
“SOMEONE ATE THE COOKIES?!” Toodles screamed out, making both the bakers jump and let out girly screams.
”Ahhh! Toodles! Don’t do that! Where’s Rodger?” Sprout said, looking down at her bewildered, clutching his scarf.
“Toodles! Goodness, please don’t do that!” Cosmo scolded lightly, patting her head.
”I’m sorry! I just heard what you two were saying and wanted to know what happened!” She quickly apologized, feeling guilty.
Sprout and Cosmo glanced at her then at themselves, before Cosmo explained what had happened. Which Toodles beamed.
”A COOKIE MYSTERY! I’ll figure out who ate them!” She said, hopping up and down then left quickly to get her detective hat and notebook. And her “assistant”, Rodger.
Cosmo and Sprout just chuckled, they’ll just bake more cookies, it wasnt that big of a deal. Cosmo will even bake a few more cookies to whoever was the culprit.
Toodles talked to every toon, including herself, how silly she was sometimes.
When talking to the last toon, Astro, Toodles connected the dots and figured who it was.
Dandy!
Toodles ran back to the kitchen which Rodger was trying to keep up with her.
She revealed who it was and Cosmo nodded and Sprout crossed his arms.
”Ohh, I understand now. Hehe, I should’ve known!” Cosmo smiled.
”Dandy! I knew it was him!” Sprout huffed out.
”Yeah! Now give me a cookie! I figured all that out by myself!” Toodles said with a proud grin.
”Yes she did, you’re a smart girl, Toodles.” Rodger said. “You two don’t have to give me a cookie, I’m just here.” He smiled at the two.
”But Rodger you can have some! Unless you want something different!” Cosmo offered, to which Rodger declined to.
”I’m fine, thank you for your consideration though, Cosmo.”
”You’re welcome!” Cosmo smiled back.
”Here ya go then, Toodles!” Sprout said, handing Toodles a cookie, making sure it had extra chocolate chips.
”Dandy.”
Delilah looked down at Dandy, then took her handkerchief out and wiped some crumbs off Dandys mouth.
”Yes, Delilah?” He tilted his head, who sat on a chair.
”You do know about the incident, do you not?”
”Uhm…yes…why?” He looked down guilty, rubbing his hands together.
”Well, you should know that your actions has consequences, such as the closing of Gardenview. Arthur told me that you were a disappointment. Should I say that you were a disappointment or just keep acting like everything is fine?” She crouched down to look Dandy in the eyes.
“I… I’m sorry, Delilah… I just got mad! And, and—“ Dandys voice wavered.
”There is no excuse to what you have done.” Delilah said, narrowing her eyes slightly before standing up. ”You may leave now. But you’re helping Dyle with his job.” She said, putting her stuff in a box.
Dandy furrowed his eyebrows a little, before leaving. He seldom his incident so why even explain.
”Dandy! I’ve been looking for you!” Cosmo called out to Dandy, who was stuck in thought.
”Huh? Oh, Cosmo! Hi!” He lightened up when he saw Cosmo, who handed him a few cookies, which were recently baked.
”These are for you, Dandy! Toodles told me who ate the cookies, but I’ve kinda guessed who it was.” Cosmo said with a chuckle.
”Oh! Thank you, Cosmo! Heh… you’re not mad, are you? If so, I’m sorry! They were just so good!” He said, worried, although he did a cookie when he said that.
”Nope! I don’t mind at all, just ask next time and I’ll personally make you cookies!” He replied with a grin.
”Awww, Cosmo you’re too sweet!” Dandy said with a smile, blushing.
”Your welcome!” Cosmo smiled back, although shyly.
