"When did you first fall in love with me?"
The question startles Luca, making him look up from his book with a panicked gaze. "Is something wrong? If I've done anything to make you question my love, I'll prove it to you right now-"
"No, no, nothing like that!" You giggle his concerns away, a small smile breaking out across your lips from your boyfriend's affections. "I was just curious, that's all."
He sighs gratefully at your reassurance, before beginning to think about your question. "As much as it hurts me to say this, I don't think I fell in love with you when I first met you."
"Aww, didn't think I looked good when we first met?"
Luca vehemently shakes his head, a gaze of love adorning his eyes. "Of course I did. Even with the veil on, you were absolutely stunning. Honestly, it gave me a little bit of a shock when I first saw you."
Your cheeks are already dusted with a light shade of pink, but Luca shows no signs of stopping his barrage of compliments.
"No matter whenever I look at you, I always think you're beautiful. Oh, that's not what you were asking about, no? My apologies, I tend to get carried away when it comes to you. …I think I first fell in love with you…hm. On our first mission, from my memory."
You raise a questioning eyebrow at his statement. "You mean the mission where I tried to run home like a coward?"
"Yes- I mean no- I mean yes, but not like that-"
You start giggling again, his cuteness making you feel warm inside. "I know what you mean, don't worry. But what about that mission?"
"It was the way that you looked when you exited that train," he said, a fond warmth in his voice. "You looked slightly scared, and for good reason. But at the same time, you looked determined to see your actions through. The way you stood there with such beautiful bravery, the way you tried to comfort Kaito, and the smile on your face when I told you that I'd protect the both of you no matter what- Honestly, I don't understand how anyone wouldn't fall in love with such an incredible person."
By the time he finished his speech, your face was so warm you felt like you were in an oven.
"I- thanks. I love you, Luca."
He broke out into a grin at those words, his whole face illuminated with joy. "I love you too, my darling."
