Work Text:
Seok woke up like he does most days, entangled with Kenny. The smell of Kenny's shampoo and his mixing together. The laundry detergent and fabric softener they picked out together, combining with their scents. Making a smell that can only be described as theirs.
He lifts the upper half of his body turning around, resting his face in his hand. Breathing slowly, eyes partially closed, not in a hurry to fully wake up. Sleepily grinning when Kenny subconsciously pulls him closer in his sleep.
Kenny kisses his head softly. “Back to bed yobo.” Kenny, half awake, pushes him back down.
Seok sinks in his embrace, they hold each other. Falling back asleep.
This time they wake up together. They just lie there for what feels like hours just grinning at each other lovingly, while gazing into the other's eyes.
Kenny moves first. Placing a hand on Seok's cheek, giving him a tiny peck on the lips. “Morning husband.” Kenny bites his lips beaming.
Seok grins back at him, his smile radiatingly beautiful for someone who's just woken up. “Morning Kenny.”
Kenny taking his time to sit up, his back against the wall. One of his legs stretching out while the other sitting in sort of an unfinished crisscross of sorts.
Seok peers up at him. Sitting up himself, moving to straddle Kenny's lap, settling his head on Kenny's chest. Kenny kisses his head, resting his own head a-top of Seok's.
They talk mindlessly about their dreams for a few minutes. Until Kenny just can't hold in his excitement anymore.
Tenderly pulling Seok's face back to hold so he looks at him in his eyes while he talks.
“Do you know what today is?” Kenny asks. Already knowing that he does. It's the reason they'd been exceptionally gentle this morning.
“Our anniversary.” Seok giggles. Smiling blithefully. Melting back into Kenny's hold. Clasping his hands with Kenny's where they still lie on his face.
“It's our anniversary.” Kenny hisses rhapsodically. Letting go of Seok's hands to pull him in till they're chest to chest. Seok moves his head so their foreheads are touching.
They grin at each other. Kenny presses a kiss to Seok's shoulder.
“Let's get ready.” Kenny states.
•••
Seok washes his face while Kenny pees and yaps about how excited he is for today. Not that Seok's judging he feels like he's going to explode into gay confetti from how excited he is.
Kenny playfully but solicitously hip checks him to move him out the way so he can wash his hands when he's done pissing.
Seok gasps dramatically clutching his hip with his soapy hands. He grunts as if he's in pain.
Kenny side eyes him, grinning. Shaking the water off his hands, pulling Seok in. “You're so dramatic.” He whispers softly. Kissing beside his ear.
He really has grown theatrical, but it's not his fault he spends too much time with Kenny (the former theater kid) that he's parodying certain parts of his personality.
They're brushing their teeth when the others wake up. They stand shoulder to shoulder or well bicep, brushing in sync.
Because they're just connected like that. Kenny eternalizes proudly.
The others greet them, Seok can tell there is something on their minds, they look too nervous to ask so he helps them along.
“Is there something you guys want to ask?” Spitting his toothpaste out. Rinsing his mouth out looking at them expectingly.
His toothbrush situated back in the holder when they decided that Nathan would speak for them. Like he's the lorax speaking for the trees (Kenny has him, binge watching his favorite American shows) or whatever, like they all have mouths, what's so hard about using them.
“So we were wondering if we should book a hotel like are you guys going to spend the day here or.” He draws out the ‘or’ anxiously.
Seok eyebrows go up, his eyes scrunch together in confusion. This is the question that had them all freaking out. Whatever, he thinks.
“No need, I booked a hotel.” He answers a polite smile blessing his face.
Kenny who was doing his makeup at the mirror turns his head around bemused. A mischievous smirk paints his face.
“I get hotel privileges. You're not scared of my wandering hands.” Waving one of his hands around like a witch casting a spell. Pursing his lips like he's asking for a kiss.
Seok's goes to answer but Kenny's hand sneaks up his shirt effectively making him lose track of his thoughts. Stunned and flustered before Kenny pinches his nipple hard.
Seok's eyes widened in pain, clenching his fist together. He lets out a screeching ow. Glaring at Kenny.
Kenny smiles sheepishly shrugging. Taking off down the hall into the living room snickering impishly.
Seok takes off after him. Letting out a laugh of his own.
Tackling Kenny to the ground tickling him, Kenny tickles him back. Yelping he loses his balance falling off of him Kenny taking control. They roll back and forth on top of each other fighting for dominance in their tickle fight.
They're having so much fun together, too immersed in their own worlds not aware of the kind yet judgy things their friends are saying behind their backs.
Hyuk listens to their giggles. Linking arms with Nathan and Aito. “They’re so cute. We’re gonna die alone” He expresses deadpan.
“How many times do we have to die and be reborn to have a love like that.” Nathan sighs depressingly.
Aito leans his head on Hyuk's shoulder. He glares at the empty space in front of him. “Braggers.” He growls out, jealous.

Seok was driving them around today. While they sit at a red light, they discuss their schedule for today.
They already made sure that the times for what they planned didn't collide.
Once they come to a consensus, Seok reiterates it.
“Ok so, pottery painting at 10:30, the arcade at 11, sketching each other–”
“We're sketching each other right or?” Kenny nods
Seok eyes him skeptical. “Why are we doing that?”
“You'll find out.” Kenny sasses, jutting out his lips at him.
Seok shakes his head, turning back, facing the road. He resumes listing out their plans.
“Sketching at 1 ish, we'll chill at the hotel for a couple of hours, maybe go to the park for a bit, before the movies at 7, then we head back to the hotel for the rest of the day and exchange gifts.”
Kenny claps. “Yeah.” Shaking his head avidly. Seok pecks him on the cheek just as the light turns green and he pulls off.
•••
They dropped their bags off at a hotel Seok booked in Itaewon.
Sitting down at their station at the pottery place. Seok paints a plate for Kenny, while Kenny paints him a mug.
Seok's attempting to paint tiny scattered eagles around the plate. He looks over to Kenny's painting beside him.
He's drawing little hearts between three big koalas. They're not the prettiest but they're koalas for sure.
Looking back down at his painting. It just looks like he's flinged paint randomly over the plate.
Grimencing, puffing his cheeks out. Frustrated that he can't make Kenny something as simple as a plate. He gives up on his initial vision, opting to make Kenny something that he knows he can do.
Grabbing his plate to go ask for a new one. Kenny turns towards him. Lifting an eyebrow in question.
Seok tells him he's going to the bathroom. Kenny looks down at the plate in his hands and back up, at him. Seok just eyes him in a way that tells him to mind his own business.
Kenny's eyes widen and his mouth drops open in a playful sort of betrayal. Frowning he shakes his head, closing his eyes. Peaking up through one eye he sees Seok still standing there he smiles. Sitting back up, Kenny waves him away.
Seok stands in front of the workers desk until she spots him.
“Hi, um I was wondering if I could have a new plate?” Seok asks timorously.
She smiles a sweet customer service smile that oddly makes him feel at ease. “Of course.” She pulls out one from under her desk. He bows slightly, thankful, he tells her just as much. “Thank you so much.”
Back at his station, now painting dark green hearts and stars across the plate. He turns it over. Calling over a helper (as much as it hurts his pride) to help him paint the cartoonish eagle. Wanting to make Kenny the best he could.

They're at the arcade now.
Competing in different games. So far they've played a shooting, dance, motorcycle, zombie, and darts game. They also battled the claw machines to get each other matching plushies, they won, of course.
Seok now has a duck keychain and Kenny a chicken.
Seok drags him over enthusiastically to the table tennis section. Bouncing on his feet like he's a second away from bursting. His smile hasn't dropped once since they entered the arcade. Probably because he's beaten Kenny at everything they played, but then again Kenny hasn't stopped smiling either.
Seok picks up a paddle. “Are you ready to lose.” Seok tells him fiercely. Grinning as he jokingly glares at him.
Kenny picks up his own paddle. Pointing it at Seok. “In your dreams.” He laughs knowing damn well he's going to lose.
“If I lose we get a divorce.” Kenny declares. Obviously joking, he would rather eat fifty keys than break up with Seok.
“Prepare to be single soon then.” Seok smirks competitively.
Kenny loses.
He pouts about it all the way to the drawing studio. They hold hands as they enter the place.
“At least I can beat you doing this.” Kenny brags.
Seok drops his hand so fast, turning his body to him with his hands on his hips. “What's that supposed to mean?” Seok queries. Hoisting up an eyebrow, in a way that just screams I dare you to speak.
Kenny folds immediately, he's never claimed to be a strong man. “Nothing my beautiful talented amazing yobo.” He smiles with his teeth out while it simultaneously looks like he's frowning nervously.
Interlocking their hands together again, rushing over to the front desk.
Kenny's drawing is miles better than Seok's, not that Seok will ever admit that to him. It's not like it's good either, it's just better because Kenny looks like a dehydrated horse in his.
Now they're about to play a really long game of who can pretend to like the other's drawing longer.
•••
They end up at the park for a while, stopping by a nearby convenience store to buy bread to feed birds.
They sit in the benches talking about what their dreams are for the next few years as idols and people, about how Hyuk and Nathan made them dinner one time and everything burnt, Aito’s new choreography, how hard practice is, everything they can think of they talk about.
Seok lays his head on Kenny's shoulder the entire time and Kenny's head on Seok's.
•••
They see a rerun of Seok's favorite movie Oldboy. It's the first movie he showed Kenny when he first arrived in Korea.
They're at dinner now, still talking about the movie. About the plot twist, fight, and depressing scenes they've seen a hundred times already.
Stealing bites of each other's food back and forth. Deciding to ultimately just switch plates.
Kenny offers Seok a sip of his drink, it's a strawberry mango margarita. Seok shakes his head no. “Too sweet.”
Seok offers him a sip of his own citrus and sage cocktail. Kenny looks at him disgusted. “That's disgusting, that's the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. And I've put a lot of things in my mouth.” Putting an emphasis on a lot.
•••
They flop on the bed. Exhausted from all of today's activities. Both of them hanging half off the bed. They look at each other. Nodding. Knowing what the other is thinking without saying anything.
They stand in the shower together, taking turns washing each other. Occasionally stealing kisses, pinching each other playfully, and just holding each other. They giggle, running their hands through the others' hair.
Giving each other peck after peck. The kiss is getting deeper but it doesn't lose that slow softness. Kenny's tongue penetrates Seok's mouth. Seok wraps his arms around Kenny's head. Kenny has his hands gripping Seok's waist. Letting Kenny take charge of the kiss. Going incredibly pliant in his embrace.
Kenny pulls back. Panting as they both catch their breath. Kenny presses a kiss to his eyebrow.
•••
Kenny sits with his back to the headboard. Seok in his lap, one arm around his waist the other around the middle of his back. Seok holds him back.
Clutching Kenny's black sleep shirt in his fist. Lounging his head in the crease between Kenny's shoulder and neck. Dozzing off while Kenny scrolled through tiktok.
He pulls back to stop himself from falling asleep. Kenny pauses his scrolling, tossing his phone next to him. “Hey no, you can go to bed.” Running his hands through Seok's hair. Trying to guide him back to his spot on Kenny's shoulder.
“No no.” Seok shakes his head.
“Presents.” Seok pouts.
Kenny giggles. Seok always gets adorably sulking when he's tired.
“Ok yeah, presents.”
They get off the bed to get their respective presents.
They sat crisscrossed in front of each other and the gift bags sat in the center.
Seok gives Kenny his present first.
Kenny gently takes the tissue paper out revealing a pastel yellow binder with dark green flowers adorning the sides. A picture of them dead center.
Kenny looks up at Seok, eyes watering his lip quivering. He can already tell what it is.
“I had the binder custom made. Um I know I've been really scared to be out and all that, but I wanted to show you that it doesn't mean that I don't treasure you. I can't show the world so I hope showing you is enough.” Seok's own eyes start to water. Biting the inside of his bottom lip. Nervously scanning Kenny's face to see if he likes it.
Kenny sets the binder down. Pulling Seok in a hug. It's awkward with the way they're sitting and the present between them. But it conveys everything he wants it too. The love, greatfulness, joy, and how proud he is of Seok. Seok who's been too scared up until a few months ago to hold his hand in public went out of his way to ask someone to make an album fully comprised of the most precious moments.
“It's enough, of course it is, it'll never not be.” Pressing soft kisses in the indent in Seok's neck.
Pulling back he grabs the photo album, swiping through the pages he grins teeth barring. He loves Seok so much.
Seok reaches out holding his hand. Staring at him intensely, he can tell it's serious.
“Kenny.” Seok starts firmly. Kenny stares at him nodding telling him to continue.
“Kenny, you've always been there for me, even when I was scared and pushed you away. You fought for me, for our love. Thank you for not letting me run scared, for letting me learn to accept your love. I'm so grateful you accepted mine back. I love you with every fiber of my being. Even when we fought you didn't give up on us, no matter how angry you were, you held my hand. I've bulldozed over our relationship once, I hurt you, and somehow you did what you always, always do. Let me make it up to you and apologize. You're the reason I stopped running scared, and fighting with myself to embrace my sexuality, our love. You held my hand and told me, “Let's stop making things harder than they should be, just let me love you, let yourself love me.”. When our foundation crumbled you helped us rebuild our homes. Your home in my heart, and mine in yours. Thank you for a beautiful year together. I can't wait to have many more.” Seok tells him. His firmness unwavering. Not allowing himself to cry, wanting to look strong for Kenny.
Kenny on the other hand has no means of hiding how he feels. He's been sobbing since Seok started talking. Looking up at him, his eyes full of adoration and yearning. His Seok was so strong. Seok loved him and truly loved him. Pulling Seok into another hug until he calmed down.
He pulls back, handing Seok his gift. Seok takes out a journal. He looks up at Kenny confused. Kenny nods at it. “Open it.” Seok nods, nervously.
As soon as he reads the first few sentences on the page he breaks. Immediately bursting out into tears.
“I know you had a hard time loving who you are completely but I wanted to show you that I never have. So I decided to give you something that authentically showed that. My journal. I wrote it for you when I first started developing a crush until now.” Kenny smiles, holding Seok's hand.
“Um I have something to say as well it might not be as amazing as your speech but.” Seok nods at him urging him to continue through blurry eyes and wet lashes.
“I fight for our happiness because you're worth fighting for. No matter how scared you were of our relationship or your queerness, you made sure I knew it was never because of me. You confided in me and made me feel like I was worth something. You battled tooth and nail with yourself, overcoming something you've struggled with for so long, and you did it so you could love me, me. Nobody has ever made me feel wanted, I've been told I'm too much, overdramatic, gross, clingy. You helped me embrace that part of myself, you loved me all of me. Even the parts I thought nobody would want to see. Thank you for existing so I could love you. I loved this year with you, and I'll love every year after.” Kenny cries softly in a steady continuous stream. Recalling their beginning and how hard it was for them at first. How much they had to fight to be able to love each other like this.
Seok throws himself in Kenny's arms. Sobbing in his neck. Kenny just held him. His own tears flowing in tendon with Seok's.
They stare at each other. Snot on their face from all the crying, eyes puffy and wet, cheeks red.
They kiss each other soft and gently. Hoping that the other can feel all of the love they carry.
They hold each other so tightly like they're trying to become one. Afraid that if they let go it'll all end up being a dream.
But it's not, this is real. “I wish I could like conjoin with you, so we could be like the same person.” Seok giggles, where he's laying on Kenny's chest.
“I'm serious.” Kenny pokes Seok on his side. He yelps. Hitting Kenny on the part of his chest he's not laying on.
“Stop. I know you are.” Giggling shifting as Kenny continues his relentless attack.
They settle back down. Kenny is now spooning Seok. Giving Seok little pecks on his head, lulling him to sleep. Taking himself too.
Their breathing evens out. Their muscles, unclench tension seeping from out of their bodies. Becoming the pinnacle of relaxation.
The joy of today, not fading even as they sleep. Somehow still smiling in their sleep.
“I love you.” Kenny says in his sleep.
Somehow as if they're having the same dream, Seok answers.
“Love you.”
