Work Text:
Her head rested on his shoulder, she liked watching him doing pottery. In his mind that might be the most boring thing in the world to watch, in her mind though, it was the most relaxing and chill she could ever be. After all, it was him doing something he loved.
In her hands there was a small pot, that pot brought her memories that, after so many months, seemed surreal. She touched the little mark left by a feline paw when the clay hadn't dried yet. That pot had never been sold, that unique touch could make it worth a lot more, but how could they? For him, it would be like losing his most valuable treasure. And for her, the pot was like the symbol that marked the biggest change in her life.
When Hinode finished his work, he placed his elbows on his thighs, carefully avoiding his dirty hands from staining his clothes and sighed. He turned his head to the side and observed her, she was staring at one of the many pots she watched him work on in the last few weeks. He rested his cheek on the top of her head, her smell filling his nose with what he described as “the aroma of the sun”.
“Hinode?” she murmured, smiling at his contact.
“Yes, Muge?”
“Wanna go out?”
“You got sick of this place already?”
“It’s not that, stupid.” Miyo raised her head from his shoulder and poked his belly, he tried to defend himself, giggling. “You’ve been here for a long while now, you should rest.”
“I think it’s a good idea, just help me take care of this mess.” Hinode cleaned his hands with a napkin and stood up. “Where are we going?”
She stood up as well and already moved to gather some of the stuff on the floor. After spending so many afternoons with him in his workshop, she learned where everything was stored and rarely needed to ask, only when there were items recently bought.
“Lets eat takoyaki!” She answered cheerfully.
He scratched his chin and looked at her with a serious expression “Hm…”
“What 's wrong?”
“Did you bring any money?”
“Of course I have…” She touched her pockets, not feeling anything in there. Her mind recollected some yen lying in her room on top of the bedside table. “... Money?”
He couldn’t help but laugh at her. “It’s fine, I’ll pay for you” He gave her a gentle smile and reached the counter to store the last few objects.
“Thanks, you’re the best!” She closed the distance between them and gave him a light kiss on the lips.
Her face blushed behind that shining smile, but not as much as his. Despite officially dating for a while now, the concept of him dating Miyo still seemed out of this world. She contemplated what for her was the cutest face in the world, she loved the way he blushed like it was the first time.
“Will you stare at me forever?”
“Only until I can see every detail in your eyes.” She blinked and quickly ran to the door.
Hinode followed shortly after, soon they were outside the house. Hinode told his family he was leaving and closed the front door. Muge hopped through the sidewalk and stretched herself.
“I like being in the workshop with you, but going outside is so good.”
“You don’t need to stay there if you don’t want to.”
“Is my company this bad?” She crossed her arms with an angry expression on her face.
“That’s not what I meant!”
Miyo smiled and showed her tongue. “I really enjoy watching you work.” She looked at something in the distance. “And this way I can spend more time with you.”
“And I help you with homework.” Hinode teased.
“Hey! I’m trying to be nice here!” She pouted and turned to the side.
He approached her, hugging her by the waist with one arm and pulled her closer, their hips touching. She looked at him with a blushed and surprised expression, it wasn't like him to be this bold, let alone in public.
“I’m joking, I like being with you. It makes my work much more pleasing.”
“S-Stop!”
Minode laughed and soon Miyo joined him. He reached for her hand and held it, fingers intertwined. They walked down the road, looking for the closest takoyaki stall.
End.
