Work Text:
Heesoo loved spending time with her friends, whether it's running around in the halls, going to convenience stores, dancing on the school rooftop, painting each other's nails.
She would always bring her camera recording her friends—capturing every moment to cherish.
However all eyes turn on Heesoo whenever she'd record her friends. Whispers, dirty looks and gossip filled the air, making her feel uneasy.
That boy keeps staring at her.
“Hey, are you okay?” Minji asked.
“Oh, I’m okay.” Heesoo nods in response. “Don't worry about me.”
The girls went out to the school’s front yard, dancing and jumping around. And Heesoo made sure to capture every single moment.
Heesoo jumped while she was recording the girls. That boy keeps staring at her. What does he even want from her—he's probably just jealous.
Heesoo is absolutely done with him. She went and confronted him.
“What do you even want?” She snapped.
“What do you mean?” That boy said.
“Why do you keep staring at me like that.” Heesoo said. “Especially when I record my friends!”
The boy was just silent. That boy was getting on her nerves.
“Hello..?” Heesoo retorted. “Aren't you gonna say something?”
The boy sighed. “About your friends—” Heesoo interrupted him. “Yeah what about them?”
“Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein, those friends of yours aren't real.” He said.
“No! No they're not!” Heesoo was in denial. “They're very much real! I can see them and hear them.”
The boy sighed. “Listen, they aren't real. They're just figments of your imagination.” He looked Heesoo in the eye. “Look, they aren't real and everyone is worried about you.”
Heesoo couldn't accept it. “This must be some kind of sick joke…”
“I’m sorry Heesoo…” The boy walked away.
Heesoo just stood there silent. Ringing filled her ears, her heart pounded faster with each second, trembling, her vision about to go blurry.
‘I mean If I can see them and interact with them, then they must be real and everyone is just playing a stupid joke on me.’
…Are they…?
The girls slowly started to get blurry—like a bunch of scribbles. It cannot be.
“Hey! Aren't you coming?” Hanni’s voice slowly faded.
Reality hit Heesoo like a truck. She couldn't accept that they weren't real.
You just made them to cope.
They're not real.
