Jimin’s first day in elementary school had been a memorable one. He had his first encounter with Jungkook then and had the usual reaction people had to the boy. Jungkook was an early bloomer and was a bit taller than a few of the boys at school. Jimin was way too short compared to Jungkook for him to feel safe against the towering boy.
So, they avoided each other until they couldn’t. By then they had both gotten to sixth grade and Jimin had caught up to Jungkook in height but he still had a cute baby face.
Jimin’s first day in middle school was all awkward pimples and growing bodies. The girls in his school had filled out more and were beginning to try to find single boys. Jimin expected to be interested in these girls but he couldn’t help but to prefer Jungkook’s company. It was a pity for the girls but he was fine with that, as long as he could keep Jungkook happy.
On Jimin’s first day of high school he admitted to himself that he was gay but couldn’t find it in himself to admit this to Jungkook. He joined the dance team with Jungkook and had fun with him, slowly falling even more in love with Jungkook which he felt was hopeless. Once Senior year hit Jungkook had gone through such a transformation that it was difficult to find one girl who wasn’t at least a little bit in love with him. Jimin had also hit puberty hard and come out rolling in sexiness that was hard to deny or ignore. Both of them were well on their way to college and Jimin still hadn’t confessed. Once the realization that these may be Jimin and Jungkook’s last few months together Jimin began to detach himself from Jungkook. Jungkook didn’t understand why and pulled Jimin, anything he could do to keep Jimin his and always only his.
It was difficult, convincing Jimin that he needed to stay in Jungkook’s life but who was he to deny Jungkook something he wanted. Especially when the thing he wanted most was Jimin.
“Jiminnie?”
“Hmm?”
“I love you.”
“What?”
“I said I love you.”
“...” Jungkook pulled Jimin to his body and wrapped him up.
“Aish, I love you too dork.”
