Summary
Lucifer focused on the ground in front of him to steady his steps, but as his eyes focused, he saw red splotches staining the carpet and spattering across the floor. His yellow eyes followed the trail of blood to the main stairwell, where Alastor was passed out halfway up the steps, a red pool seeping into the carpet around him.
Man, that was a lot of blood. Lucifer wasn’t sure exactly how much blood humans had, but he knew it would make them pass out if they didn’t keep enough of it inside their fragile bodies–and that appeared to be Alastor’s state at the moment. Lucifer could even see the mangled hand steadily spurting blood with every feeble heartbeat.
