Chapter Text

The ice deity couldn’t believe it. A newborn, right in front of his very own eyes. In the middle of a blizzard, too. What kind of parent does this, he thought to himself, picking up the crying newborn child and gently dusting the snow off of her swaddle. His heart shattered into a million pieces at the sight of it. A newborn baby, just an approximate seven month old baby girl, left abandoned in the middle of a forest during a blizzard, left to die with no one around to see. How lucky the child is… To be found and what not, if Icedagger hadn’t found her sooner… Hell, who knows what would’ve happened to the poor girl?… The ice deity quickly snapped out of his thoughts, cradled the baby close to his warmth, and walked as fast as he possibly could.

The ice deity practically ran the last few blocks home, bursting through the front door to find the living room empty. “Everyone must be either asleep or in the kitchen…” he thought to himself, it was only 1:29 AM, after all. Only a minute until 1:30. He quickly shook those thoughts away as well and started searching for his older siblings, calling out all six of their names a handful of times. Until he finally got an answer…

“Little brother, what is in your arms??”

Venomshank was the first one to speak, with a young Sword in his lap, from the initial shock everyone had the moment Icedagger walked through the door. Just that one sentence alone caused the room to go into havoc and chaos all at once. Windforce, being the oldest one by only a mere five minutes, spoke up…

“ICEDAGGER WHAT THE PHU—“

She was quickly shushed by Firebrand, that is. “Icedagger, why do you have a child??”, Illumina asked, being the only one who was surprisingly calm through all of this. “I-i don’t know I was playing in the nearby forest and I found her in a phucking log!! I don’t know what to think of it!! What do I do I don’t know how to raise a kid hell I don’t even KNOW how to cook or how to function a microwave!! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO??”, the ice deity yelled, quickly shutting up the moment the newborn started wailing from hunger.

“Baby brother, give her to me.”

Ghostwalker said, gently reaching out to take the baby girl from his arms without startling the already frightened and confused deity. Icedagger flinched at first, of course, but he slowly handed her over to his older brother with shaky, yet stable, hands.

Ghostwalker carefully takes the crying newborn from Icedagger’s shaky hands, motioning for the ice deity to follow him to the kitchen.

“Where are we going, brother?”

The ice deity asks, being the curious, yet mindful, one he is. “To the kitchen,” the taller one said, “If you’re going to raise a baby, you need to learn how to feed it, of course.”

*INSERT TIME SKIP BY LIKE FIVE MINUTES*

The two deities and the crying newborn baby girl enter the kitchen, with the 7’0 tall deity handing the baby back to the 5’4 tall deity to get the necessary supplies out, carefully grabbing baby formula and baby bottles.

*ten minute time skip because its 12:40 AM and I SHOULD BE SLEEPINGGGG!! <3*

“Okay, now, Icy. You position her like this…”, Ghostwalker said, carefully adjusting Icedagger’s grip on the small baby. “And then the bottle goes like… This!”

Ghostwalker demonstrates how to feed her, but he fails a few times, so Ghostwalker carefully, and patiently, explains how to do it until the shorter one gets it in the right position. Both watching the young one in between them feed on the formula that they’ve prepared.

The two deities sit in silence for a good ten seconds, before one speaks up, “… I think I get the hang of it, brother…”

The ice deity whispers, careful not to disturb the feeding baby upon their line of sight.

It was late at night, perhaps morning? Considering it was 2:19 AM, and everyone was still asleep.

Until a loud, ear-bleeding, wail rang throughout the hallways. “OH SHUT THAT THING UP ICEDAGGER!! I’M SO TEMPTED TO JUST ASSASSINATE THE BABY, YOU KNOW??” Windforce yelled, clearly agitated about the whole thing. Considering she had a big event with her son, Banhammer, just the next day at 7, “WINDFORCE NO DO NOT KILL THE BABY!”, Firebrand shouted back, clearly not happy with what his sister had said a few seconds prior.

“Yes, sis! Kill the baby!” Darkheart chanted happily, and then a loud smacking sound and him yelping played along afterwards. Venomshank had “politely” slapped him on the back of the head with BRUTAL force, mask on, of course. Causing Darkheart to start crying dramatically. Illumina just watched with Ghostwalker, both amused, yet not laughing.

“I’M UP! I’M UP!!” yelled Icedagger, who tripped over the rug in the hallway and fell flat on his face before quickly scrambling to his feet and rushing to Slingshot’s bedroom where her crib was, followed by frantic attempts to soothe her. Icedagger wasn’t good with this at all, so everyone looked at Windforce, she looked at them with a look of reluctance, and turned to go help her younger brother with something he *wasn’t* good at whatsoever, she had to help Venomshank with this too a few years back.

Icedagger glanced over at his brother nervously, considering he was laughing maniacally in the corner at 9 in the morning, saying “I’M SURROUNDED BY QUEERS I’M SURROUNDED BY QUEERS…” over and over again.

Then he turned into a fish and flew away, much to everyone’s surprise. Even young Sword, who was eating her yogurt, stared in shock.

“… what the phuck-“ Windforce finally said.

And they all turned into fish and flew away.

“Valk?? VALK??” yelled the fire deity, who has just noticed his granddaughter, just 2 years old, went missing. “FELLOW DEITIES!! SHE’S GONE! VALK IS MISSING!” he yelled as he bursted into the dining hall.

*time skip*

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY NIECE IS MISSING??” Banhammer shouted, vividly enraged at the thought. Venomshank was already searching all of Inpherno for her. Windforce was calming down a panicked Icedagger, who was trying to soothe baby Slingshot’s wailing from the noise level.

Darkheart was laughing in the corner like the psychopath he was, with Illumina staring at him with the “what in the actual phuck” look, and Ghostwalker was just reading a book, trying to ignore the chaos around him as Firebrand accidentally set something on fire (again.)

*MASSIVE TIME SKIP*

Firebrand ended up burning the dining hall down, as well as the whole tower. Icedagger is traumatized again, Windforce is “politely” strangling the fire deity and Darkheart. With Illumina, being the somewhat reasonable deity they were, trying to calm everyone down, meanwhile, Venomshank is currently feral and they don’t know where he is.

Sooo, recently ive been thinking abt this, and i jst wanna say that the character info will be getting put down jst 4 context around pronouns, how theyre described, and at the end of the story ill put what they NOW look like!! Ill start it december 20th (aka the day im on winter break from school)
