Miraculous Bats

Summary:

The Batfamily fill in for the Miraculers.

Notes:

I do not own this show or this webcomic.

Work Text:

The Miraculers were sneezing and sniffing.

“It’s no use,” Chat Noir said with a stuffy voice, “we need to take a few days off.”

“But we can’t!” Ladybug said, equally stuffy, “An Akuma could appear at any time.”

A portal opened, and Bunnyx poked her head out, “Which is why you need to ask some friends to fill in.”

“Who?” Ladybug asks, not fazed by Bunnyx’s sudden appearance, “Who could we trust to defend our city?”

Bunnyx grinned, “A family of pointy-eared crime fighters.”

“Pointy… oh.”

Batman was on the batcomputer when he received a call.

“Hello?”

That night on a rooftop…

“Voyage!” Pegabug said.

The Batfamily stepped through.

First, Bruce Wayne, Batman. Billionaire orphaned as a child, trained for years to fight crime, blah blah blah. If you don’t know who he is, what rock have you been living under?

Dick Greyson, Nightwing. The oldest and the original Robin.

Jason Todd, Red Hood. The second Robin, until his death (he got better).

Tim Drake, Red Robin. The smartest member of the Bat-family and the second-best detective.

Barbara Gordon, Oracle. Was the original Batgirl before a spinal injury put her in a wheelchair, now acts as the team's ‘guy in the chair’.

Cassandra Cain, Orphan. Trained as a weapon by her biological father, which resulted in speech problems, was Batgirl for a time.

Stephanie Brown, Spoiler. Daughter of the supervillain Cluemaster… they don’t talk. Was both Robin and Batgirl in the past.

Damian Wayne, Robin. The youngest and the only biological child of Bruce Wayne.

And Finally, Duke Thomas, Signal. His parents were put in a coma by Joker venom and was taken in by Bruce. Is a metahuman with light-based powers.

“Thank you for com–achoo!” Pegabug sneezed.

“You’re welcome, Marinette,” Batman said.

“I still don’t know how you figured out my identity,” she grumbled as she de-transformed.

“Are you sure it’s okay?” Marinette asked.

“Yes, our allies can protect Gotham while we watch over Paris.”

Marinette raised an eyebrow, “I thought Batman was a lone wolf hero.”

Spoiler snorted, “No one believes that but him.”

“Hn,” Batman said.

“Why do we even need Miraculous?” Red Hood asked, “We do fine without them.”

“Most criminals in Gotham don’t have superpowers,“ Red Robin pointed out, “plus Akuma powers can range from petty to world destroying.”

“Fine, we’ll wear the magic jewellery,” Red Hood grumbled.

“Yay!” Spoiler and Orphan pumped their fists.

“So which Miraculous do we get?” Nightwing asked.

Bruce and I discussed that,” Marinette said, “and we have chosen the Miraculous that we think will suit you.

Nightwing got the Monkey.

“All my years at the circus are paying off!”

Nightmonkey

He posed with flexed arms.

Red Hood got the Ox.

“Not my usual colour, but I can work with this.”

Blue Hood

Red Robin got the Horse.

“Hmm, interesting.”

Trojan Horse

Oracle got the Snake.

“Nice,” she said as she looked at her transformed wheelchair.

Python

Orphan got the cat.

She stared at Plagg with big eyes.

“Cute.”

“Just give me camembert, and we’re okay.”

Orphan Kitty

Spoiler got the tiger.

She grabbed it before Marinette could say anything.

Yoink!

“How’d you know I was going to give you that one?”

“Umm…”

“She wanted it because it’s purple,” Python explained.

“Purple Power!”

Purple Stripes

Robin got the Dragon.

“Excellent.”

He swung his new sword a few times.

“Perfectly balanced,” he praised.

Dragon Blade

Signal got the Fox.

“I wonder if this will complement my powers.”

Foxtrot

“Now we will go to the nearby base,” Batman said.

“You have a nearby base?” Marinette asked.

“I brought it after the first time we met.”

“Of course you did.”

“Let’s kick some butterfly butt!” Purple Stripes yelled.

“Yeah!” Orphan Kitty agreed.

“Let me at 'em!” Blue Hood punched his fist into his other palm

“They will not survive,” Dragon Blade declared.

“I’m regretting this already,” Marinette said.

Soon, an Akuma appeared.

“Ladybug! Chat Noir! Where are you?”

He hears thumping behind him.

“Finally–wait, who are you?”

The Bat-miraculers posed.

“The Miraculers are using their sick days, so you have to deal with us in the meantime.”

“Inexperienced heroes?” Chrysalis said, “This is perfect! They don't stand a chance!”

The Akuma grins, but that does not last long.

“Mirage!” Foxtrot shouts, and bright balls of light appear in front of the Akuma’s face.

“I’m blind!”

“Wow, that’s new.”

“Lightning Dragon!”

The bolt of lightning knocked the Akuma back.

“No killing!” Nightmonkey said sternly.

“He’ll live,” Dragon Sword told him.

The Akuma got up with a groan.

“You pay for that!”

He shot beams of energy, but Blue Hood stepped in the way.

“Resistance!”

The beams didn’t hurt him.

“Nice.”

“Uproar!” Nightmonkey hit the Akuma, and his beams turned into confetti.

The Akuma tried to run.

“Clout!” Purple Stripes hit him in the back.

“Voyage!” Trojan Horse opened a portal, and the Akuma flew through.

“Owwwwww!”

He looked around and saw that he was in an abandoned building.

“Hi.”

He turned at the voice to see Orphan Kitty standing by the building entrance.

She touched the doorway, “Cataclysm.”

The Akuma’s eyes widened before the building collapsed onto him.

In her lair, Chrysalis stared in disbelief.

“Great instructions, Python,” Nightmonkey said into his communicator.

She cracked her fingers, “I’ve had a lot of practice.”

In the Burrow, Bunnyx was eating popcorn.

“I love these guys.”

Crunch!

They brought the butterfly in a jar.

“One Ultrakuma as requested,” Nightmonkey said.

“I’m surprised you were not there, Father,“ Dragon Blade stated.

“He’s embarrassed,” Purple Stripes said with glee.

“Hn.”

Batbug

The Ladybug Miraculous was essential for purifying Akumas and reversing any damage they cause, but Bruce didn’t trust the kids with it, so he had to be the one to wield it.

“C’mon!” Purple Stripes said, “Aren’t you loving being in the city of love? All bright and cheery?”

Slump!

“I want to go home now.”
