Chapter Text
[Name] was what people would call the life of the party. She had an unapologetically strong personality, a tendency to surround herself with the most debatable and entertaining company and a nasty habit of hedonism.
Which is how she found herself in this situation.
“[Name] look, I understand you have never exactly had a natural affinity for schoolwork, but it seems that recently you haven’t really been trying either. I could excuse this if it wasn’t a repeated ‘lapse in judgement’. You need to make a conscious effort to actually learn and complete the work in time”
…ugh. Currently she was in a meeting with her father, a stern looking man who towered over her- he was a kind, sensitive and caring man whose personality betrayed his appearance nonetheless but he too had nasty habits, mainly overdramatising every fucking thing.
“[name]! This is unacceptable I mean.. what if they KICK YOU OUT? huh?”
Oh good god how she hates everyone in this room right now. Alongside her father she also had the pleasure of having Aizawa and Nezu in here too. Basically they ganged up on her and they decided to make her life a living hell.
“This is the worst thing to ever happen to me.”
To say the room fell silent is an understatement. She stood up, slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out. “You guys suck and I’m strong, didn’t realise books made a difference on being a good hero?”
With that the door slammed. A collective sigh fell from every adults lips. “What am I going to do with her?” Kento, [name]s father, now had his head buried into his hands as he tried to ground himself.
“We have a solid idea of where and how she needs to improve, she just needs to be willing and it seems as though shes.. well..”
“Not.” Aizawa stood from his seat after finishing off Nezus admittedly blunt sentence. He dusted his knees off and turned his head to face Kentos.
“I can try and speak some sense into her, but honestly, I think this might be a job for a therapist, that girls lack of concern for anything beside socialising and fighting is bordering mental illness.”
Kento lets out a small, choked sob. That’s when Aizawa realises that maybe he’s the blunt one out of the two U.A. teachers in the room. “That was, uhm, rather blunt. I only meant that she just puts effort into things she enjoys and she simply doesn’t enjoy schoolwork. I don’t see how this can be remedied unless she enjoys the solution. Which she won’t. Because it’ll be more work.”
Well that came out wrong. He can tell that it came out wrong by the way that kento looks up, no longer on the verge of tears but rather with an expression of a man being sent to his death.
——————————————————
“HEY [NAME]!” spinning her head around to find whoever just shouted her name her eyes land on her friend, or rather her friends uniform. “Hey hakagure”. At the tone of her voice the invisible girl approaches, slowly, asking what the matter is. This then leads to a rant, one which continues into the dorms common room, where everyone in there is now engaged in the story of how she got ganged up on and practically beat to death verbally by the three grown men.
She wasn’t the most reliable narrator.
“Wow.. that’s way harsh, I mean you’re trying your best!” This well meaning comment comes from a red headed manly man. What he doesn’t realise however, is that by saying this he has just successfully made her sure of the fact that she’s in the right and everyone else was in the wrong.
“I mean yeah.. you’re super strong, of course you’re not gonna be super smart too!” This one, just as well meaning as the last just comes across as mean. And that fact causes the room to fall into a heavy, heavy silence.
“Jee thanks Denki! I’ll be sure to say that next time!” As the boy fumbles to correct himself she slowly rose from the overly dramatic slouch she had adopted on the common room sofa.
“I’m going to bed, I hate everyone and I need sleep.” Another heavy silence follows this statement as she stomps up the stairs.
At that moment, everyone’s thoughts are the exact same. ‘She’s totally gonna get kicked out isn’t she?’
——————————————————
Sat on her needlessly huge bed, a cat pen in between her lips, [name] now attempts to do her homework. For three minutes and twenty seconds. Before she gives up and wishes death on any naturally smart people.
She decides however, this is perfect. She never even has a book out, nevermind a pen to go along with it! If she posts this, people will totally think she’s smart and trying. Her dad will lay off!
Pulling out her phone and hitting the livestream button, she sets her phone up, leaning on her pillows as she poses herself.
“Hey guys.”
A flood of comments rush in, most of them about a scandal she’d had recently. One involving a late night dinner with Hawks. See -unfortunately- [name]s debatable lifestyle had reached the public, in the form of scandal articles online. This had thrust her into the public spotlight, with teens and young adults loving her laidback attitude towards… Well everything.
Actual adults weren’t exactly thrilled with the fact she was one day going to be responsible for keeping them safe. Which is why she began posting on her own accord. Mostly training videos, all of which had gone beyond viral considering the fact that she was unbelievably strong and proficient with her quirk. This, combined with her personality, which although it had its flaws was oddly charismatic, had actually made her incredibly popular in the general publics eyes.
“I’m studying right now and I wanna die. I mean I get that we have to be the best students cos we go to U.A. and everything but guys, this shit sucks”
Another flood of comments roll in, most relating to her, others sympathising and some berating her for taking it for granted.
“No guys I get it like I should be grateful for my education and all that jazz but holy fuck my brain just can’t contain all this information. I mean how the hell am I supposed to know ALL of this just off the top of my head. I know the basics off by heart, obviously, I’m not dumb. I just don’t get how I’m supposed to remember the more complicated stuff! I’m not being funny but it’s super complicated! And I obviously have other strengths like being the strongest person ever in the history of the world and being jaw droppingly beautiful so why do I have to bother with all of this!”
Her mini rant was interrupted by a knock at her door. She made eye contact with the live and rolled her eyes before going to open the door. At it was none other than class fucking rep, Iida.
“[name]! I must urge you not to badmouth the fine institution of-“
Slam.
Turning her head back to the camera which caught every second of that painful asslicking she clicked her tongue. A few muffled, pointless yells could be faintly heard from the other side of the door.
“Not listening to another second of that fucking try hards rant. The schools great but the work isn’t. Obviously I like U.A. otherwise I wouldn’t fucking be here. Any of you getting the wrong idea need to get that.”
Well her mood was completely fucking ruined now. She walks over to her bed, jumping on it and reaching for her phone and saying a quick goodbye whilst ending the livestream. Shoving her books aside she grabs her laptop as well as a large box under the bed.
You see, when it was stated she had bad habits, it wasn’t stressed just how many she has. Drinking is the very worst. And probably the most illegal too.
Grabbing a bottle of whatever she’d mixed when she last stocked up and opening it she downs it completely. She then turns on her playlist. Loud.
After an unhealthy amount of drinks and Rick and Morty, she decides to brainstorm. Well her equivalent. Which as expected gets her fucking nowhere.
[name] wasn’t dumb. She knew that. Everyone knew that really. She was smart, bordering genius. She just, didn’t like school. She put in all her mental energy - and more - into battle strategies. That’s what matters when you’re a hero. Not maths or fucking science. Fighting.
Finishing the dregs of what was left in her bottle she decides to search for answers on her private TikTok account.
‘How do I get better grades easily’
A few joking videos popped up, sleeping with your teacher jokes as always. Honestly she wouldn’t mind.. Aizawa is beyond fuckable. Unfortunately he’s a goddamned good teacher with a great set of morals. So that options off the table. After a minute or two of scrolling she finally comes across one that looks like it might actually be helpful.
It’s a smart looking girl, you know the type, spotless room, slicked back hair, clean makeup and that slight air of ‘I’m better than you but I’m giving you this advice because I’m so much kinder than you too!’
“Honestly the thing I’ve seen work for the most people is getting a study buddy. But not someone you’re actually friends with! Because then you’ll be distracted and no studying will actually get done! You need someone you’re neutral with. It needs to be someone who understands the material and knows it inside out. They’ll be able to help you with any questions you’ve got about it! I hope this video helps! Let me know in the comments below if you’ve got any other-“
That’s enough of that. A study buddy? And someone she’s not friends with. That’s a very slim amount of people. Well, smart people.
She decides to give up for the night and opts to drink until she passes out.
