Becoming something else in life
Sev was sewing a wound of a fellow rebel while out in the field on a mission gone awry.
He had always had the knack for the medical stuff, alas never really having bothered to learn the trade properly while still in GAR. Being a commando was hard enough of a gig, so having something else on the plate had not been something Sev needed to do.
Alas, their medic having gone missing, the kits with them, right now, the wounded were bleeding and Sev, was truly up to the task.
“That’s a helluva suture ya got there, Sev!”
“A clone’s gotta do what a clone’s gotta do. I guess it’s just something I am good at.” Sev simply let out a small laugh, the compliment irrelevant at the moment, more so their survival was that.
Sev already having sown three wounds of two different teammates on this mission. The lot of them stuck, thankfully in a hide hole from secure for now at least from the imps looking for them. Alas without too much in resources, well, guess they just had to improvise.
And Sev, was really great at that. Always had been even back in the day.
“Well, ya know you really are good. I mean I’ve seen some sloppy work even if it totes saved the life of the wounded. But you my friend, really got it!”
“Thanks! Now, let’s finish up these before they bleed out.”
Sev felt good though, doing good for someone else, his debt to the Rebels having saved him from certain death way back when he was wounded and left for dead.
“Sure thing, Doc!” The Rebel told him.
The two continuing the work while the rest of the team was getting comfortable, trying to get their comm device working to contact for a pick-up. Hopefully, before it was too late.
But, Sev, while working on the wounded, had an idea forming, thinking perhaps, he could learn to do more. Guess being a trainer for the newbies on the base wasn’t enough for him. But then again Sev liked to keep busy, never the one to just sit down and relax when the work was done.
Then again, on the Rebel base, the work was never really done. Something Sev loved about it too.
And so, deciding on asking Lenny, the main medic if he could teach Sev about the fine trade of being a medic.
Guess it was time after all?
