Tonks, Remus and Teddy were all sleeping. Teddy, only a few weeks old, was lying in his cot next to his parents bed, his hair a sky blue colour. All of a sudden Tonks woke up, a loud snore from Remus bringing her back to consciousness.
"Remus!" She hissed, quietly, careful she not to wake Teddy. Instantly Remus shot up when he heard his name. He'd always been such a light sleeper that Tonks had wondered many times how he never woke himself with his snoring.
"What?! What is it?! Are you okay? Is Teddy okay?!" He was clearly trying to stay calm, but it wasn't working. Since they were in war times, his reaction was understandable, but Tonks still found it slightly funny how quick her husband was to panic over nothing.
"We're fine Remus. You keep snoring and its annoying. I don't know how Teddy's sleeping through it." Remus seemed to calm down after hearing this. "Oh, okay...sorry." Remus said, slightly embarrassed at his over reaction.
Tonks stood up, walking over to Teddy's cot, where he's still sleeping quietly. "He's alright." She said as she got back into bed. They both lied down to go back to sleep.
A few minutes later, however, another round of loud snores started. Tonks sat up and shook Remus awake.
"Stop. Snoring. Or I'm gonna kick you out of this bed." She said, and from her tone, Remus could tell she was clearly not joking. "You know I can't help snoring don't you?"
"Well then I might not be able to help kicking you out the bed if you snore." She retorted, still sleepy.
"Alright, alright. G'night."
They both lay down again and moments later another snore cuts through the room.
"Ouch!" Yelped Remus as a foot collided with his shin. "What did I tell you?" Tonks said, glaring at him, but with no real anger. "That wasn't me, I wasn't even asleep-" As he was talking another loud snore sounded through the room.
Tonks looked over at Teddy's cot, where the sound was coming from. They both stood up to go and look at him sleeping. "It can't be...how's he that loud?" Remus asked, kind of amazed in a strange way, that such a small person could make such a loud sound.
Tonks looked at Teddy affectionately, then looked at Remus, smiling. "He snores like his father."

Two weeks later, just before the battle of hogwarts. Remus was stood with Kingsley, not really listening to what he was being told, instead thinking about Tonks and Teddy at home.
"Remus!"
He turned around to see his wife running towards him. Tonks ran over, trying not to think about Teddy, who she'd left with her mum and dad, as she knew that might have been the last time she'd ever see her son. She reached Remus and hugged him tightly, not letting go.
"You shouldn't have! It's Teddy who needs you." Remus said, still holding her tightly.
"He'll sleep til dawn and snore like his father. It's you that needs me tonight." She said, looking deep into her husband's eyes. They stayed like that, hugging tightly, until they watched the magical barrier defending the castle break, and death eaters started to flood hogwarts.
They broke apart, running in opposite ways, as death eaters came at them from all sides. Before he turned the corner, Remus looked back at Tonks, meeting her eyes. As he launched into battle with one of the death eaters, he knew he and Tonks were thinking the same thing. That hopefully they would meet again when the battle ended. Hopefully they would hear their sons snores again.
