Movie night for two

Summary:

T and Mikey watch a movie.
_
Originally written as a script for a short comic in December 2024.

Notes:

I'm gonna be super honest I've never played the game, only watched a playthrough, but I've always loved the pairing. So sorry for story inaccuracies.

Work Text:

“I'm telling you, this is a classic! Totally redefined the genre! I thought you would like a crime drama…”

Michael excitedly held out a DVD of an old Vinewood film. The plastic case bore a black and white picture of a gruff-looking detective with a dame on his arm. The title simply read as “The Murder on Midnight Avenue”. Talk about a cliché.

“Eh, my whole life is like one big crime drama. But at least mine is in full color!” Trevor's idea of a fun evening with Mikey really didn't include a company of a gumshoe from the 50s.

“C'mon, T, give it a shot, it gets really good by the end!”

“Ugh, sure.”

Trevor made himself comfortable on Michael's expensive sofa and popped open a beer. But no more than ten minutes passed before he started making comments.

“Would. Also would. Eh, probably would.”

“Are you gonna say that every time a new character appears on screen?” Michael shot Trevor an annoyed look. He only shrugged in response.

“It's not my fault I'm bored outta my god damn mind. Trying to have fun Trevor-style.”

“Why did you agree to watch a movie with me again?”

“Maybe I just wanted to spend time with my best friend! Is that a crime now???” Trevor shot up from his seat now. “I think those pretentious artsy movies are a big money-laundering scheme for some rich old jerkoffs. But I will suffer through them because you like them. Okay?!”

“…Okay. You don't have to sound like I'm torturing you here, T.” Michael looked away, embarrassed.

“Heh.” Trevor plopped back on the sofa. “I feel like I would enjoy that a whole lot more.”
