Work Text:
Ever since he was a young boy, Fox Preston has been into psychology. He had always been the black sheep of his family, sat alone in the classes,... In any group, he was the odd one. Maybe that's why he got interested in psychology. It helped him explain many things about himself and others.
But nothing he's learned could explain that feeling of paranoia. He thought he might have some level of psychosis, that he was just hallucinating. He even started taking some meds, but nothing worked. Nothing could shake the feeling, as if someone was watching him constantly. Anytime he commuted, whenever he was at work, he never got a break. It only stopped when he was near his house, near his girlfriend, Winnifred.
She was amazing. They used to go to the same high school and she was the one he tolerated the most. At first, she seemed quiet and dispersed, but when you got to know her, she's talkative and eager to help (even if when she spoke she said weird things or often messed up. She's human after all, so he understood. ) She was very respectful, kind, smart, but very insecure about herself. He always tried helping her dealing with that and he was happy they had made some progress. She always surprised him by cooking his favorite dessert or buying him presents to make him feel better.
She truly loved him. It almost made him forget about those red eyes of his hallucinations.
(For context: Evil Scarlet Shade's design has red shiny eyes heh.)
